What You Will Do:

• Provide support to the company’s legal team and business in Singapore, in particular in the areas of human resource management, cross-border procurement and online games-related compliance research

What We Are Looking For:

• Graduate of a recognised law school either in Singapore or any other common law jurisdiction and admitted as a member of the legal profession in Singapore
• 3 – 5 years of related experience in the gaming and/or tech industry, preferably a multinational corporation or a law firm with an international practice
• Familiarity with employment laws and cross-border commercial transactions will be a plus
• Strong background in contract law, drafting and negotiation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in the English language, proficiency in basic conversational Mandarin (spoken and written) preferred in order to communicate with key business partners

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

Legal Advisory

Purpose of the job

Responsible for the strategic development, implementation, and continuous improvement of AET’s Compliance and Ethics programme and promotion of a strong compliance and ethics culture and awareness of expected standards of behaviour throughout the AET Group, consistent with the Code of Conduct and Business Ethics (CoBE).

Provide legal support to the legal team as directed with respect to the Company’s prospective and existing shipping business in APAC and globally. Provide advice on general legal matters affecting the Company. Monitor legal developments and changes in legislation.

Key Accountabilities

Compliance and Ethics Function

• Build a highly effective Compliance and Ethics function that is positioned to support the Company in ensuring compliance with key CoBE and regulatory obligations.
