Role Profile

The Assistant Engineer shall be responsible to provide timely response, escalation and resolution to all incidents, outages and performance alerts. This includes the monitoring of 1-Net's facilities and network infrastructure and systems performance.

Responsibilities

• To perform 24x7 rotating shift duty for NOC and Network Operations.
• Changing of backup tapes based on predetermined schedule
• Preparation and compilation of team and customer weekly and monthly reports
• Process internal and external service requests including physical access, DNS changes, MS, x-connect and etc.
• Inventory Management for physical network infrastructure, x-connect.
• Provide remote hands service and onsite support to internal and customers
• Liaising with end users and vendors/Telco providers on network implementation, requirements and maintenance support
• Manage vendors or contractors in Meet-Me-Room, Cabinets and Client premises when services are required
• Responsive to troubleshoot and solve L1 Data Center and customer network issues
• Perform physical network infrastructure deployment and cross connect provisioning for internal and customers requirement
• Report to Telco Helpdesk for suspected circuit problem.
• Maintain concise and up-to-date network documentation including: Network inventories, processes, policies and procedures
• Collect and manage the statistics collection and application from the network systems
• Generate accurate and informative network analysis reports such as traffic utilization and network uptime reports

• Minimum Diploma or equivalent qualification in IT related field of study

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

• Managing day to day project activities including scheduling, coordinating and monitoring and reporting update of projects.
• Monitoring and ensure compliance to applicable scope of work, codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
• Execute projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget and identify potential issues or risks.
• Co-ordination with Operations & Maintenance (O&M), technical / engineering resources / contractors / authorities for execution of the project.
• Review of feasibility studies and cost estimates on proposed projects.
• Technical review on design concept, engineering and operational matters on the project and related activities.
• Assist in development, scoping and establishing project budget, schedule and control measures.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress reports, budgets, and schedules.
• Primary focal point between various parties.
• Provide any other support.

Qualifications & Experiences:

• Diploma/Degree in engineering or related field.
• Fresh graduate is welcome to apply and for those with 5 to 10 years’ or more experience in Solar PV system design / engineering will be considered for senior position
• Must have high level of integrity, able to generate trust and build alliances with co-workers.
• Able to communicate effectively & diversely for prompt resolution to site matters.
• Able to work independently, take initiative and ability to foresee and resolve issues before surfacing would be an added advantage.
• Thorough understanding of SS638 and working knowledge of common construction materials and methods.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Autocad and construction software.
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Previous experience in electrical works in construction is an added advantage
• Ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced environment, communicate concisely to all levels of the organization, and maintain effectiveness while working autonomously or collaboratively.
• Ability to multi-task and manage deliverables for multiple projects at a time
• Familiar with Job Safety Analysis, Work Method Statement and Permit to Work application requirements and procedures.
• Ability to maintain good project documentation and is familiar with ISO documentation requirements.
