Fellowship in Vascular Surgery

The Department of Cardiac, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, National University Hospital is seeking candidates for our fellowship in Vascular Surgery under National University Heart Centre, Singapore. We are a 1,400 bed hospital with full range of vascular surgery services. There are 6 Consultant surgeons in the vascular division. We have an aortic center which offer full range of open, endovascular as well as hybrid surgery and both cardiac and vascular surgeons worked closely together. The vascular unit performs over 1,600 procedures in all aspect of vascular surgery. The fellowship will be at registrar/senior registrar level and you are expected to do on call at frequency of 1:4 Rota to 1:5.

We welcome international candidates who have previous vascular experience and looking for further opportunities to enhance their vascular and endovascular skills. As we are an academic unit of vascular surgery, fellows are expected to participate in research and teaching. The NeuroPhenomics Lab is dedicated to the profound exploration of brain tumor biology, focusing particularly on key driver mutations like IDH1 and IDH2. These mutations significantly contribute to the development of aggressive malignant gliomas by altering chromatin structure and genome methylation, thus influencing tumor evolution. Beyond this, our lab is committed to identifying other genetic alterations with potential clinical relevance.

We are currently seeking a Research Officer who is passionately interested in translational cancer research. The ideal candidate should have a robust background in biochemistry, with a preference for experience in protein engineering and antibody work.

Job Requirements:

• A Bachelor"s or Master"s degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or Biochemical Engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of PCR and molecular cloning.
• Experience with proteins and antibody engineering is preferred.
• Proficiency in wet lab techniques.

Roles & Responsibilities

Scope :

All finance and accounting matters relating to our business.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities :

-Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.

-To prepare invoices for reporting.

-Preparing all Final Disbursement Accounts (FDA) accurately and within deadlines.

-Prepare and arrange 'Cash To Master (CTM)' with vendors.

-Process payment to suppliers and staff reimbursement.

-Prepare monthly AP journals, postings and schedules.

-Any other adhoc tasks as assigned by your immediate supervisor

Qualifications / Requirements:

Job Responsibilities

• Support and assist the SRE / RE / RA
• Undertake all or part of the duties and responsibilities of the SRE / RE / RA as instructed by the appointed project manager in consultation with the project consultants if no SRE / RE / RA are appointed for the project
• Review all project drawings and specifications, and raise any discrepancies and/or possible problems before construction work commence on site and progressively throughout the entire course of the project
• Supervise the construction and related works, maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project specifications, drawings, approved sketches, product or system specifications, contractor’s method statements, installation and working procedures, and site instructions, supervising Qualified Persons and project consultants
• Ensure that the contractors carry out their work in compliance with Building Control Act and Regulations, Codes of Practices and requirements of building authorities and government agencies, such as BCA, LTA, NEA, NParks, PUB, SCDF and public utility agencies/service providers such as SPPG, SingTel, StarHub, etc
• Report to the supervising Qualified Persons any work that are not constructed according to the building approved plans, project drawings including shop drawings
• Report to the appointed project manager and/or project consultants any work that are not constructed according to the specifications and drawings
• Liaise with the supervising Qualified Persons and their engineers/architects / specialists on the review and approval of revised designs, amended drawings, specialist drawings, sketches, etc
• Assist in the review of contractor’s method statements and working procedures, and to ensure that they are followed on site
• Monitor contractors’ schedules, day works, site progress, etc
• Verify progress payment claims, all other claims and reports submitted by the contractors
• Check shop and construction drawings, samples, etc. submitted by contractors and their sub-contractors / suppliers / vendors and to report any discrepancies between these and the project drawings and specifications
• Preparation and submission of daily progress report

Job Requirements

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post-Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in relevant field.
• Must be registered as Resident Technical Officer (RTO) with BCA/IES/ACES
• Shall have a certificate in Building Construction Supervisors Safety (BCSS) Course
• Possess relevant working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Responsibilities

• To perform all roles and responsibilities required of site supervisors under the Building Control Act.
• To supervise the timely execution of the works and maintain quality control and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the contract specifications, drawings, allocated timeframe, all other contract documents, and site instructions.
• To check all drawings and specifications to ensure that works are carried out in accordance with the approved plans for discrepancies and report to the Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person as stated below:
• Check shop drawings submitted by contractor.
• Check as-built drawings and Operation & Maintenance Manual submitted by contractor.
• To check on quality of materials and samples delivered to site and report to Superintending Officer / Consultant / Qualified Person on any materials that are not conforming to the specifications.
• To check mock-ups done on site, where necessary.
• To ensure that the required construction tests in connection with the construction works are carried out where necessary.

Qualifications

• Possess Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• Registered Resident Technical Officer with IES / ACES.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as RTO in supervision of works similar in nature to major construction works in buildings, civil, HDB carpark.
