Job Title: Application Engineer (Mechanical Background)

Job Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hands-on Application Engineer to join our R&D team. This role is essential in providing technical and application support for prototype integration/testing and collaborating with our sales team and distributors. The successful candidate will work with a diverse range of photonic and optical products, including optical modules, measurement instruments, and other photonic systems. This position bridges the gap between customers, suppliers/manufacturers, the R&D team, and the sales team to ensure excellent technical solutions and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support: Provide pre- and post-sale technical solutions based on customer requirements and applications.
- Installation & Training: Conduct on-site installations and provide training to customers for the effective use of products.
- Mechanical Design: Design and develop mechanical mounts for optical systems and fixtures as required.
- Sourcing: Source mechanical and electronic components necessary for product integration or customization.
- Collaboration: Act as a liaison among customers, suppliers, the R&D team, and the sales team to ensure smooth project execution.
- Training: Provide internal technical training to the sales team when necessary to enhance product knowledge.
- Documentation: Prepare technical documentation, reports, and other required paperwork in a timely and accurate manner.
- Customer Engagement: Visit customers to understand their challenges, address technical issues, and identify new business opportunities.
Prerequisites:
- Educational Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Second Upper Class Honors (or equivalent) degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates with pending final semester results may apply, using their current CGPA as a reference.
- Skills and Qualities:
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, and fabrication methods.
- Be familiar with CAD design softwares, such as inventor or solidworks.
- Enthusiasm for problem-solving, hands-on activities, and learning cutting-edge technologies and devices.
- Cooperative, responsive, and effective communication skills.
- Proactive and resourceful in sourcing and providing innovative solutions.
