About the role:

The OA role has the responsibility to support vessel day to day operations such as:

Assist the Vessel Operations Superintendent as instructed and ensuring deck plan for project equipment is ready including assisting the VOS with mobilisation and demobilisation activities in an efficient and timely manner. File time sheets of the contractors and maintain documentation of certification / service reports for equipment mobilized.

• Liaising with Vessel Operations Superintendent and subject matter experts to ensure that all mobilisation related documentation such as service reports, Work Instructions, NDT reports, class inspection records, etc are filed.
• Actively involved to maintain the Action Tracker Coordination Meetings and Corrective Action Registers.
• Oversee and maintain the inventory of the parts for a specific project with the support of the back deck supervisor / offshore manager / technical coordinator. Reorder project consumables as necessary timely.
• Under the supervision of the VOS, supervise shore contractors for maintenance, mobs and demob activities and ensures logistics and procurement plans are planned and conducted safely and efficiently in coordination with the central logistics team.
• Assist the VOS for readiness of port call activities such as bunkering, agency selection, logistics of spares and consumables with purchasers, offshore manager / party chief and project manager.
• Prepare basic deck layout using ACAD and liaise with the 3rd party naval arch to obtain equipment sea fastening drawings. Submit the sea fastening drawings and calculations to class as necessary for approvals. Arrange for class surveyor inspections.
• Review equipment Installation structural / piping drawings for mobilisation and demobilisation. Ensure compliance to the inventory required for project specific tools with vessel equipment.
• Working closely with procurement teams to manage vendors, raise purchase requisitions follow up with goods receipts (GRN) and vet service invoices from the vendors for works performed onboard.

Requirements:

Education: Third-level technical or similar university degree education in Mechanical / Marine Engineering with several years’ work experience

• Act as primary customer contact, and provide technical support and regular update to customers on project development in a timely manner.

Competence Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for all technical support related aspects at a specific customer: escalations, fleet performance, system installations, improvement programs and upgrades.
• Acts as intermediary and field escalation focal point between customer and Division by providing technical support and documentation to field engineers, technicians and product support personnel who are diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging equipment.

Job Objectives

Design and develop both optoelectronics devices and integrated photonics sub-system platforms. Devices includes but not limited to SOA, gain chips, FP lasers, DFB lasers (CW and DML) and SLEDs. Photonics integrated platforms include but not limited to photonics integrated circuits, Silicon-based integrated platforms, standard/custom packaged modules, as well as optoelectronics sub-systems (i.e. includes both optical and electronics sub-modules) to meet design goals and requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform simulation of optoelectronic devices (CrossLight, ALDS, Optiwave), optical ray tracing (Zemax, Optalix), thermal (Solidworks) and electrical (5Spice) properties of optoelectronics devices
• Analysis of optoelectronics device epi growth, participate in wafer fabrication process integration, mask design integration, device functionality and reliability performance characterization and test results.
• With reference to state-of-art competitors, simulated performance and data-mining internal test-results database, you will refine the design, fabrication specifications, and simulation model and parameters to optimize fit between design and measured outcomes.
• Report generation of design and simulation outcome with support of experimental data, where available
• Build up database of optoelectronics device design white papers, and management of all design documentation repository
• Responsible for leading/co-leading programs with several major global players in the development of photonic integration solutions to support the Silicon Photonics platform for datacom and sensing applications.

1. Development will be beyond simplex monolithic integration with regrowth for spot size converters and array devices, towards multiple functionality PICs incorporating active devices of lasers, modulators and detectors with passive devices of waveguides, polarizers, MMI splitters and optical filters.
2. Development of multiple functionality PICs designed to be compatible to Silicon Photonics to form a larger scale integrated System-on-a-Chip component.

Minimum Education

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor or Master in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Optics)

Minimum Experience

• 5 - 10 years’ working experience with technical background in optoelectronics and wafer fab processes in optical laser component, photonics device system and sub-system
• Proven working experience in optoelectronics design and development and program/project management in the photonics manufacturing industry
• Software knowledge of MS Office, JMP, PDF/Spot-fire is a plus
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, both written and oral.

• Design, maintain and administer the Company's quality training programs.
