Role:

• Providing purchasing services in adherence to established purchasing procedures.
• Promptly notifying Technical Superintendents of any purchasing-related issues.
• Managing the computerized purchasing program.
• Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by superiors.

Requirements:

• Relevant education or equivalent training and experience.
• Proficient in communication.
• Familiarity with computer programs.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a team.

• Responsible for the entire procurement procedures including purchase requisitions, obtain quotes, purchase orders and delivery of goods according to the purchasing guidelines.
• Negotiate and build a good working relationship with the suppliers.
• Create inventory control and stock take for all goods supplied and delivered.
• Liaise with the Superintendents and vessels for matters relating to requisitions.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Purchasing, or Supply Chain with equivalent qualifications.
• At least 3 years of purchasing experience in Marine/Shipping industry.
• Team player with good interpersonal and communication skills.

Job Description

• Complies with the Company’s QSM and processes.
• Provide effective support to the Purchasing Executive and Procurement Manager for the purchasing process.
• Prepare and Issue Purchase / Work order (PO/WO). Ensure approval is obtained and proper closure of the purchasing activities for each technical purchase requirement.
• Follow up on Purchase Orders and ensure ordered items delivered on time.
• Take over duty of Logistics Support Assistant during his absence – duties as stated under Logistics Support Assistant.
• Ensures the proper information are entered into the Company’s electronic system as the system requirements.
• Maintains proper filings of physical records.
• Contributes and feedback to section / department manager on improvements to the management system.
• Assists where required, under the direction of the Procurement Manager.

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum GCE level in any discipline
• Minimum two years of experience in Purchasing role
• Good knowledge of technical, purchasing and logistics processes
• Good communication skills – spoken and written English
• Flair for Numbers
• Meticulous, attentive and careful in details and thorough in completing assigned duties.
• Cooperative and collaborate well with all members of the organization and with 3rd parties

Job scope:

• Manage purchase requisition, quote and purchase order documents and processes
• Review the purchase requisition report & check the demand vs material lead time vs MOQ & purchase price
• Raise portal to request sales manager approval for excess PO quantity due to MOQ
• Work with planning on material pulling in to support manufacturing needs
• Managing and follow up the delivery schedule on raw materials to ensure timely delivery
• Source for spot buy / one-time buy on gating materials from the open market
• Handle rescheduling request pull in, push out base on demand
• Manage incoming materials to avoid excess materials holding
• Work on excess PO cancellation with supplier
• Resolve account payable issue
• Shipment arrangement with the supplier
• Request advance payment in the Portal with the Finance for the supplier with advance payment term
• Issue PO and SO for purchases within inter-company
• Update inter-company FG PO and raw material PO & SO delivery commitment in system
• Reschedule the delivery for inter-company FG PO and raw material PO & SO delivery
• Inter-company shipment arrangement with planning team, warehouse and logistic department
• Update delivery schedules in SAP for both Singapore & Malaysia entity
• Manage sub-con RFQ
• Update PIR for inter-company.
• Any other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

• Minimum Degree or diploma in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Material Engineering or any Engineering field or equivalent
• Minimum two years experience in EMS/Manufacturing environment
• Must know PCBA and electro-mechanical.
• Team player with a positive attitude and organized in administrative duties
