This role will give you the opportunity to:

• Champion compliance through monitoring and testing by designing and executing a monitoring and testing plan for the region, sharing findings with your tribe and work together to strengthen our compliance program across our Asia/Pacific markets.

• Take on and own new projects that arise in any area of the compliance programme on a project basis. Take a problem-solving approach, whether designing a new process to be implemented or driving an effort for multiple teams to work together to remediate control gaps or process enhancements. 

• Global cross team collaboration projects with focus on delivering impact for our fast growing APAC markets - Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines and New Zealand.

A bit about the role:

As a member of the APAC Compliance team, you will work closely with Compliance Officers, Product, Operations and other teams to develop and implement testing and monitoring plans for our diverse region. 

Building trust 

• Manage and perform processes and controls testing - scoping the review, conducting the assessment and collaborating with teams to resolve findings.

• Proactive communication of gaps and risks as well as proposing solutions as to how processes and controls can be strengthened.

• Validate the effectiveness of regulatory controls to build a trusted relationship with key stakeholders. 

Strengthening the regulatory compliance framework

• Support regulatory and financial crime compliance monitoring and testing projects in APAC.

• Proactively monitor compliance health in the markets using data and visualisation tools.

• Design meaningful and timely compliance indicators that enable internal teams and Board of Directors to analyse and assess our compliance health.

Job Summary

• To promote an effective quality programme includes identifying, coordinating and participating with relevant departments on quality and patient safety training needs, standards development, design and implementation of audit tools and risk management activities:
• Monitor current healthcare trends in quality, patient safety metrics and performance improvement practices;
• Keep abreast of appropriate regulatory agency requirements related to quality assurance and patient safety standards;
• Responsible for service excellence programmes with a synergistic working relationship with clinical quality;
• To initiate continuous service improvements through constant monitoring / surveys, audits and training.

Job Responsibilities

1. Manage the incidences, customer feedback / complaints and provide timely responses and effective preventive measures;
2. Identify and implement service, clinical quality and patient safety improvements to close service gaps. Measure and evaluate data to determine the ultimate impact of the programs and initiatives;
3. Develop / Conduct training programmes to improve service standards and develop a culture of customer centric services;
4. Maintain statistics on Quality Indicators eg Productivity, Episodes & Unique Beneficiary data, Customer Service Survey Data (including incidents, feedback, compliments, complaints). Prepare documents for management reporting as required;
5. Assist to develop, implement and review policies and procedures relating to quality management functions for standardisation and compliance to quality standards;
6. Maintain an inventory of all policies and procedures within the organisation and ensure compliance to ISO 9001 standards;
7. Work with consultants and internal customers to achieve and maintain certification i.e. ISO 9001; Bizsafe, DPTM, etc.
8. Maintain external correspondences including MOH / AIC, ensure all correspondences are tracked.
9. Timely execution / submission of Service Excellence awards and external awards;
10. Any other tasks as assigned by the Manager / CEO.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in a relevant discipline, preferably Degree in any discipline
• Minimum 3- 5 years experience in quality management, preferably in the Healthcare industry;
• Have a background in quality assurance, quality improvement, patient safety and/or PDPA;
• Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes Effects Analysis would be highly advantageous;
• Knowledge of statutory regulations and guidelines pertaining to all aspects of healthcare;

The Job

1. Data Protection Compliance:

• Assist in reviewing, updating, and maintaining data protection policies and procedures.
• Ensure organizational practices comply with data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

2. Data Inventory and Mapping:

• Help update and maintain records of processing activities (ROPAs).
• Assist in mapping data flows to identify risks and gaps.

3. Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs):

• Support in conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new or existing processes.

4. Training and Awareness:

• Help coordinate data protection training sessions for employees.
• Develop awareness materials on privacy and data security practices.

5. Incident Response:

• Assist in responding to data breaches, including investigation, documentation, and reporting.
• Ensure incidents are escalated to appropriate teams when necessary.

6. Auditing and Monitoring:

• Assist in internal audits and drills to identify data protection compliance gaps.
• Provide administrative support for external audits.

7. General Administrative Tasks:

• Maintain accurate records of all data protection-related activities.
• Prepare reports and presentations as required.

Any other tasks as assigned by ADPO/DPO.

The Person

• Minimum Diploma in a relevant discipline, preferably Degree in any discipline.
• Preferably undergone Fundamentals of PDPA and/or Practitioner Certification in Personal Data Protection.
• Experience in compliance/audits especially data protection compliance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily reviews of transaction filtering and screening to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform sampling of cleared alerts to assess the accuracy and quality of the adjudication.
• Gather and analyze data to spot trends, recurring issues, or inefficiencies in the filtering process.
• Document findings and assisst in generating reports for manager and stakeholders.
• Work with the filtering team to provide feedback and identify areas of improvement in processes and controls.
• Collaborate to improve workflow, suggest enhancements, and support the implementation of corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 2 years of experience in the banking industry with some exposure to screening process.
• Understanding of financial crime and money laundering risks.
• Strong attention to detail with ability to identify discrepancies and trends in large sets of data
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take direction from senior team members.
• Experience with compliance or AML tools such as World Check, Fircosoft, or other filtering and screening system is a plus.

In this role, you’re expected to:

• Responsible to perform independent Client Onboarding KYC due diligence functions of new and existing clients across a variety of teams including private bankers, operations and compliance.
• To review clients' profiles and work with banker team to fulfill onboarding requirement, full compliance of Bank’s AML/KYC standards, local laws and regulations.
• Identify and highlight suspicious money laundering activities, deficiencies and other non-compliance issues to management. Provide guidance in exception handling and approval.
• Establishes and maintains close working relationship with client, stakeholder and within team to facilitate an open and direct communication of issues, needs, queries and system setups, in such that these may be responded to in an efficient, prompt and professional manner.
• Responsible for various types of project management, process and policy changes, new initiatives and managing cross-functional relationships with all teams. Analyzes complex and variable issues with significant departmental impact in the team.
• Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. Demonstrates high level of diligence, motivation and organizational skills.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

• 5-8 years of experience in KYC/AML process, compliance, operations, risk & control functions
