Job Responsibilities
- Provide assistance to the Head of Departments to develop and implement strategic plans – may include developing short and long-term plans for BCAPD APAC to ensure its growth and sustainability.
- Managing and assessing risks that could impact the bank’s operations such as identifying potential risks, developing mitigation strategies and monitory the effectiveness of these strategies.
- Managing regulatory compliance and ensuring the countries in APAC comply with all relevant local regulations, laws and Head Office guidelines.
- Ensuring financial stability which involves developing and managing budget allocations to countries and headcount management for BCAPD APAC within stipulated guidelines.
- Leading and managing teams across the various groups by ensuring the members are aligned with the organisation’s goals and objectives – fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and teamwork.
- Supporting Head of Departments on people management within BCAPD APAC such as talent mobility to groom younger generation leaders and driving performance management.
- Managing effective communications with Head Office, Countries Heads and GMs and Group Heads within BCAPD, Business & Control Functions Heads and relevant authorities whenever necessary.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration or banking and finance.
- Experience in areas of strategic planning, risk management, compliance or operations management (including overseas operations), budget management and internal controls management will be advantageous.
- Strong and effective communication skills are essential to manage stakeholders. relationships.
- Possess a strong understanding of relevant laws and regulations to ensure compliance are adhered.
- Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans and goals.
- Strong analytics skills in assessing risks and opportunities to make informed decisions.
- Proficiency in both English and Japanese is highly preferred as this role needs to prepare reports in Japanese for reporting to Head Office in Japan. This role also needs to present and communicate with stakeholders and counterparts in Tokyo Head Office who mainly communicate in Japanese.
