Project Summary
The Behavioural Insights Centre of Excellence in SUSS is seeking a qualified research executive to support the study of “Development and Validation of a Platform Worker Occupational Well-being Indicator Tool”. The approach to this project will be through interviews, and surveys. The intent of the project is to develop and validate an indicator tool for platform workers to measure their occupational well-being. The project is scheduled to run for one year.

The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities (LKYCIC), established in 2012, is a research centre at the Singapore University of Technology and Design. LKYCIC aims to stimulate research on cities and urbanisation, and explore the role of technology, design and policy in providing urban solutions.

Within the Programme on Urban Innovation, we are seeking a full-time Research Assistant to contribute to the study of placekeeping, which involves the long-term management and maintenance of place. With a mixed-methods research approach, we will examine who the key stakeholders are in placekeeping, how they collaborate, and what facilitates or hinders their collaboration. The study aims to establish a methodology and framework that will enable the systematic investigation of placekeeping and inform future policies and practices related to placekeeping in Singapore.

About the Position:

This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about placemaking, placekeeping, and community engagement in urban planning and design and is looking to gain experience for a future career in research.

You will:

• Work closely with the Principal Investigator and research team to craft data collection tools, including survey and interview questionnaire

We are seeking applicants for a full-time postdoctoral research fellow position in non-Hermitian physics (ONLY theory and simulation). The successful candidate will apply quantum mechanics and computational simulations to study the physical properties of non-Hermitian system and their nonequilibrium behaviour, as well as to explore potential device applications. The Research Assistant will be expected to engage in projects around 5G Digital Telecommunication Platform for Cyber Exercises under the Future Communications R&D Programme (FCP) Office in SUTD. We are seeking a highly motivated research assistant with a strong mathematical background who is interested to explore new research directions in neuro-symbolic methods, specifically on the interplay between deep learning and symbolic reasoning. The successful candidate can expect to help with the implementation of algebraic machine reasoning frameworks and will work closely with other team members.

The goal of this project is to develop a general neuro-symbolic reasoning framework for solving various reasoning tasks. The symbolic reasoning part of this framework shall be based on algebraic machine reasoning, a new reasoning paradigm built upon commutative algebra and computational algebra. The non-symbolic part of the framework shall primarily be based on deep learning, and could include vision models, language models, and multi-modal models.

Qualification & Experience:

• Bachelor's in computer science.
• Strong programming experience and must be open to learning new things.
• Strong mathematical background, and is excited by the possibility of applying algebraic methods (e.g. in computational algebra) to problems in machine reasoning.
