The Signature Research Programme in Neuroscience and Behavioural Disorders (NBD) is focused on understanding the structure and function of the nervous system, and the neural mechanisms underlying human neurological, psychiatric and ophthalmological disorders.

The Laboratory of Neural Stem Cells, led by Professor Hongyan Wang, is dedicated to understanding molecular mechanisms of brain development. About the Role

National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) seeks a nuclear medicine/positron emission tomography (PET) Physicist to help improve and clinically implement effective cancer imaging and treatment techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• As a Radiation Safety Officer for radio-isotope radiation protection issues
  - Supervise and ensure compliance of staff to radio-isotope radiation protection policies.
  - Ensure the highest level of safety for patients and staff
  - Perform patient dose surveillance to ensure compliance to ALARA principle
  - Perform QA activities to reduce radiation exposure to patient and staff
• As a Medical physicist to ensure highest image quality
  - Develop and maintain a comprehensive Quality Control (QC) program
  - Comply with applicable regulations from accreditation and regulatory agencies for PET/CT, SPECT/CT and nuclear medicine imaging and therapy.
  - Develop technical protocols for clinical and clinical research imaging techniques
  - Work with technical staff, peers, and vendors to monitor and optimize scanner performance
  - Address technical quality and scanner performance issues as they arise and develop preventative measures
  - Provide dosimetry for patients treated with radio-isotopes (eg Radio-iodine and Yittrium-90 embolic therapy)
  - Serve as a system resource to address radiation safety and diagnostic physics issues.
  - Perform and draft reports related to patient radiation doses from medical diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine exams.
  - Perform and draft reports related to quarterly documentation audits of the nuclear medicine program, program, and other licensed activities
