Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant will work closely with the IHDP’s Biobank Team. The RA’s principal role will be to work in general practices of biosample transporting, processing, storage, data entry and other tasks as assigned by Reporting Officer,

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant/Research Associate will:

1. Process a wide range of biosamples that includes but not limited to blood and stool.
2. Provide and maintain accurate laboratory record and data
3. Adhere to all laboratory safety and procedures in accordance with the laboratory SOPs.
4. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with SOPs
5. Perform laboratory housekeeping as assigned
6. Must be work at 3 sites as rostered
7. Must be able to work on weekends
8. Perform other duties as assigned by Reporting Officer

Qualifications

The applicant should:

1. have a bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, Life science or related discipline.
2. Must have laboratory experience and competent in pipetting
3. Able to work in a fast-paced environment

A specialist research team exists within the company to provide formative research support and to evaluate the progress of the campaigns. We are looking for an experienced mixed-methods researcher to lead this research team.

The Head of Research will be confident leading the Research & Insights Department, managing & overseeing a team across two offices. This will involve overseeing the design of assessment frameworks to ensure both the effectiveness of the messaging is assessed, as well as the assessment of the strategy/Theory of Change itself. The Head of Research will also oversee report writing for internal audiences as well as clients. The position requires relationship management with research partners who perform the primary research on behalf of the organisation. The position will also require representing the research team internally, with especial regard to working with the accounts, strategy and production teams. Job purpose

· Working as part of a core team that supports M&C Saatchi World Services’ communications campaigns, providing research, analysis and insights to support program management teams.

· Leading the measurement and assessment of ongoing communications campaigns, applying quantitative and qualitative research methods.

Main Accountabilities

· Implementing evaluation strategies, including designing assessment strategies and reviewing draft formative and evaluative research instruments produced by Analysts working on the project.
