The Design Researcher and Lab Manager will be responsible for conducting user-centered research, managing lab operations, establishing, and managing internal and external partners and stakeholders, social media creation and maintenance, and ensuring that the lab and team functions efficiently. This dual role involves a blend of hands-on research, project management, and operational duties to support our design and innovation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design Research

• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research to gather insights into user behaviors, needs, and motivations.
• Plan, execute, and analyze various research methodologies including user interviews, usability testing, surveys, and field studies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into the design and development process.
• Synthesize complex data into clear and actionable insights, reports, and presentations.
• Advocate for the user perspective and ensure that user experience is a key consideration in all product and service development.

Centre Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the design research lab, ensuring it is equipped, organized, and functioning efficiently.
• Ensure all research tools and equipment are up-to-date, properly maintained, and calibrated.
• Coordinate with IT and facilities teams to troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues.
• Manage the lab budget, including procurement of supplies and equipment, and track expenses.

Project Management

• Lead and coordinate research projects from initial briefing to final delivery, ensuring timely and successful completion.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define research goals, timelines, and deliverables.
• Manage relationships with external research partners and vendors as needed.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior researchers and lab staff.

Social Media Management

• Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the company's marketing goals and brand identity.
• Create, curate, and manage engaging content across all social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok, etc.).
• Foster and grow online communities by actively engaging with followers, responding to comments and messages, and initiating conversations.
• Prepare regular reports on social media metrics and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology, Anthropology, Sociology, Fine Art, Media & Communications, Business, Marketing, or a related field.

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in user research, design research, or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing a creative office or similar environment.
• Strong background in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.

Job Description

• Conduct in-depth research on various topics, including cultural, historical, and social aspects, as well as professional jobs, and thematic elements relevant to the drama’s setting and themes.
• Collaborate with the writing team to provide accurate and compelling information that enhances the authenticity and richness of the storyline.
• Stay updated on industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor strategies to contribute valuable insights to the production process.
• Assist in script development by providing detailed background information, references, and supporting materials.
• Establish collaborations with external experts, consultants, and historians to ensure accuracy and authenticity in the portrayal of specific topics.

Qualifications

• Diploma / Degree with 3-4 years of working experiences.

Join our Client Experience Research (CXR) Team as a Client Experience Researcher (Manager/ Assistant Vice President) based in Singapore! Our ideal candidate will be:

• A mid-Level CX Researcher with 5 to 7 years of hands-on experience in user experience research, with a strong foundation in qualitative research methodologies.
• As a Mid-Level CX Researcher, you will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our products by conducting insightful research, providing actionable recommendations, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:

1. User Research and Client Experience Research

• Plan, conduct, analyse user research studies including product discovery, design thinking workshops, usability testing, ethnographic studies, interviews and other relevant research studies where appropriate.
• Work closely with Product Owners, Product Designers, Content Designers to identify research objectives and translate them into effective research plan, discussion guides, transcripts and Research reports.

2. Data Analysis

• Synthesise and analyse research findings to uncover actionable insights that may influence product design decisions.
• Use qualitative data to create comprehensive understanding of user behaviour and preferences.

3. Collaboration

• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across the bank to integrate user research into the product development life cycle.

4. Communication

• Clearly communicate the research findings and insights to both technical and non-technical team members in a transparent, compelling, and accessible manner.
• Create and deliver compelling presentations that effectively convey the impact of user research on product design.

5. Industry Knowledge

• Stay informed of industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies in CX research.
• Share knowledge and contribute to the growth of the UX research discipline within the organisation.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, Design or related social science field
• Work experience as an UX/CX Researcher for 5 to 7 years
• Strong knowledge of user centred design principles and methods
• Proficiency in a variety of research tools and platforms
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to facilitate up to 25 user interviews/year
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Portfolio demonstrating UX/CX research framework
• The role is responsible to conduct Mandarin/Cantonese user interviews. Knowledge of Mandarin/Cantonese dialects is essential.
