Position Overview:

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, analysing and overseeing the structural integrity of mechanical systems and components for our products. These include specialty vehicles, engines and shelters. This role demands a strong understanding of mechanical design, vehicle systems, and relevant automotive and/or military standards, with a focus on ensuring high performance, reliability, and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

· Develop and optimize mechanical designs for mechanical and automotive systems, focusing on efficiency, manufacturability, and sustainability.

· Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and software engineers, to create innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

· Utilize advanced CAD tools (such as SolidWorks) to create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings.

· Perform simulations and analysis to validate designs and ensure they meet performance and safety criteria.

· Create prototypes and conduct hands-on testing to gather data, evaluate performance, and refine designs.

· Participate in design reviews and contribute to brainstorming sessions to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

· Maintain thorough documentation of design processes, test results, and compliance with industry regulations.

· Stay updated on industry advancements and incorporate new technologies and methodologies into your work.

· Support manufacturing team with technical guidance to ensure smooth production processes and troubleshoot any design-related issues.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree or higher qualification is a plus.
• At least 2 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, ideally within the automotive sector.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks) and familiarity with simulation tools (e.g. FEA, CFD).
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design standards, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovative solutions.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment.

Job Description & Requirements

Responsibilities:

• Assembly, fitting, basic tool room machining, mould development, implementing process improvements for tool manufacturing and liaise with machining technician for process planning and scheduling of project.
• Discuss tooling drawing with Designer to ensure tooling design is meeting customer product requirement.
• Assemble, fitting and troubleshooting of tooling related issue.
• Fabricate tooling components and inserts according to tooling drawing.
• Liaise with Production Engineer for execution/planning on mould testing.
• Ensure tool manufacturing and trial meeting planned schedule.
• Initiate corrective action if first article or parts not meeting specification.
• Use various measuring devices including micrometers, calipers, optical measuring machine, gauges and all inspection equipment
• Ensure tool room facilities and equipment are properly maintained and used.
• Ensure tool room health and safety precautions are taken care at all times.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement Project.
• Any other ad hoc jobs assigned by Manager / Supervisor

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 year experience in mould manufacturing toolroom environment.
• ITE or Nitec certificate in Tool & Die Trade.

As a Global FE Central Planning Capital Engineer in Micron, you are part of the Global FE team responsible for managing the capital budgeting, funding and savings process.

In this role, you will work closely with Manufacturing Central Team resources, Fab resources, Global Procurement and Finance. You need to have good communication and presentation skills, and able to provide clear and qualitative data analysis to facilitate decision making. You should possess detailed understanding on capital expenditures and able to identify opportunities for capital optimization.

Capital System Project

• Contribute and provide subject matter expert guidance and requirement feedback in Capital Asset Lifecycle Management (CALM) project – to set up the end-to-end CALM system in SAP replacing MICAP for budget and fund.
  
• Communicate status of tasks, report issues, risks, changes, and quality concerns to the project manager and team.
  
• Establish reports to monitor Capital Health.
  
• Discuss and propose metrics and the action plans required.
  

Monthly Capital and Cash Flow Review Process

• Facilitate the monthly capital review process for Micron’s Front End (FE) Operations. Define, sustain, and continually improve the processes to enable the budgeting, funding, savings and GR/cash flow compliance of Micron’s FE Operations.
  
• Provide support and technical expertise to the various stakeholders to deliver an effective capital request to the executive teams for approval.
  
• Collaborate with site planning and other Teams to ensure used assets are considered before the commitment of any new capital expenditures, and identify opportunities for capital optimization.
  
• Balance the need to push for optimized capital plans against the monthly capital cycle deadlines.
  
• Act as a liaison between the sites and other Central groups, to establish and enforce business processes for a sustained and effective capital cycle, and help resolve conflicts as and when required.
  

Executive Capital Review

• Generate Biweekly and Monthly Capital cash flow update to leadership based on MOR, Loading scenarios, Cashflow adjustments and Projects activities.
  
• Validate Micron Capital Ledger and work closely with Finance team and other organizations/team to roll up Board of Directors reporting and Earnings Call data.
  
• Generate Wafer Fab Equipment (WFE) data based on validated Finance cash flow reports for Industrial benchmarking analysis
