OVERVIEW OF ROLE:

Responsible for delivering comprehensive L2/L3 support in the APAC region, along with management of a reliable IT infrastructure, including key applications, while supporting the Head of IT with implementing support and infrastructure solutions that meet IT service and strategic objectives.

Some global travel and out of hours work may be required.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Major Incident Commander for the APAC region
• Provide team leadership for international L2 team members in the following areas:
• Managing all tickets submitted in APAC working hours for all Group companies
• Providing 2nd line support for all Group offices in APAC
• Ensuring tickets are responded to within set SLA’s
• Supporting all user desktops, laptops and peripherals
• Configuration and deployment of all end user hardware
• Maintenance of the hardware inventory, asset tagging etc
• Ensuring the L2 team receive relevant training to support the end users
• Point of escalation, and mentoring, for 2nd Line support
• Maintain the rota to cover helpdesk hours
• Align with Odyssey Group’s external L1 partner to ensure needs are being met in the APAC offices
• Generate reporting statistics on Helpdesk performance
• Adopt a policy of ‘Shift Best’ and provide recommendations on how to achieve this
• Project manage and implement infrastructure and application deployments, upgrades and migrations

• Maintain an up to date understanding of current end user technologies.
• Ensure adherence to existing IT policies, as well as reviewing, designing and supporting any new ones as required
• Work closely with Odyssey Re HQ on all existing and new initiatives

Required Skills and Levels of Competence

Must have:

• 5+ years IT Infrastructure support
• 3+ years previous Service Desk lead experience
• Advanced knowledge of the Windows stack
• Windows Server 2016-2022 deployment and migration
• Advanced Active Directory
• Microsoft Exchange administration
• Microsoft M365 administration
• Hands on experience with public and private cloud infrastructures – notably cloud migrations
• Experience managing hybrid computing environments comprising physical servers, virtual servers, storage etc – vSphere an advantage
• Strong experience with major infrastructure components such as Servers, Storage, Networking, Databases, Backup solutions
• A strong working knowledge of IT ticketing systems – ServiceNow an advantage
• SCCM management – including application deployment and upgrades
