We are seeking for a Manager Research and Science for our Asia Pacific Headquarter located in Singapore. The ideal candidate is a recent doctorate degree graduate who is specialized in a field related to human health. Some non-exhaustive examples of related fields include medicine, chiropractic, physiology, nutrition, or biological science.

The Manager Research and Science will represent PM-International as a presenter at product training presentations and international events, and will be expected to travel to our PM-International subsidiaries across the Asia Pacific region, including to developing Asia Pacific economies, such as China, India, Philippines and Indonesia. The candidate will also be expected to conduct product trainings via online video presentations.

As such, we require a well-groomed professional, confident in Mandarin and English.

Should the successful candidate currently reside in Singapore, he/she will work from our office.

Please note that residency in Singapore is not mandatory for the position: remote working arrangements can be discussed if the successful candidate is not currently residing in Singapore.

As there is no requirement for non-residents to relocate to Singapore, no relocation benefits can be provided for non-residents.

WHAT ARE YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES?

• Plan and prepare product presentations for FitLine nutrition supplements in Mandarin and English.
• Represent PM-International as a presenter at product training presentations and international events. PM-International events include Kick-off, National Congress, Product Academy, Product Trainings and Power Day presentations. The training sessions may be targeted at team partners, customers, potential customers, or a general audience.
• Support product development work for PM International by assessing the scientific literature, competitive landscape, nutrient function claims and traditional knowledge.
• Respond to product queries from across the Asia Pacific region.
• Support Regulatory Affairs for Nutrition and Skincare products in Asia Pacific.
• Assist in PM-International’s research projects based in the Asia Pacific region. Research projects may include internal focus group studies and external scientific collaborations with universities and research institutes.
• Ad hoc scientific projects will be assigned to meet our rapidly changing business needs.

WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS?

• A recent PhD in a field related to human health is mandatory. Some non-exhaustive examples of related fields include medicine, chiropractic, physiology, nutrition, or biological science.
• A sound understanding of nutrition science and/or human physiology.
• Confident presentation skills in both Mandarin and English. Candidates must be able to communicate and present scientific information in both Mandarin and English. Additional language proficiencies in Korean or Japanese will be an advantage.
• Our Asia Pacific subsidiaries include developing countries. We also have new markets that have yet to be opened. The aspiring candidate must be ready for business trips across Asia Pacific, including to developing Asia Pacific economies, such as China, India, Philippines and Indonesia.

Responsibilities:

• Define strategy and implement the plan to coordinate and aggregate demand across all Public Healthcare Institution (PHI) through internal and external forums.
• Scan industry and landscape for promising new areas in AI solutions based on MOH’s defined strategic objectives & thematic areas
• Engage users on new tech & pilot explorations, and manage the pilot lifecycle.
• Work with multiple stakeholders to identify, scope and support the implementation of POC, POV, pilot innovation projects, and manage and track life-cycle of innovation projects at each of the Explore, MVP, POC, POV and Scaling stage.
• Share knowledge and information on use cases and work with the funding agencies to identify and evaluate collaborators/providers that offer potential solutions that best suit the needs of users.
• Coordinate and communicate with the funding agencies (if applicable) whose investment and grant objectives are relevant to the potential solution at the POC or MVP stages.
• Participate as internal review and/or evaluation panelists during the screening and selection process as deemed appropriate by department/division.
• Manage AI and tech programmes, track and report to senior management / programme office and retain engagement with the stakeholders throughout the innovation life cycle.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Preferably 10 years’ experience and have hands-on experience in project management, client management of medium to large-scale projects, including innovation projects.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with different groups of stakeholders.
• Possess leadership qualities.
• Experience in the healthcare industry or experience in developing different types of incubation programs for startups would also be an added advantage.
• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science or equivalent.

Cognita, in partnership with Brighton College, is seeking an inspirational Head of Science (Senior School) to start in August 2024. The successful candidate will take a lead on all aspects of science provision at Key Stage 3 and above, as Brighton College (Singapore) expands from a first-class Prep School to one of the region’s leading all-through schools (from Pre-Nursery to Year 13).

This is an exciting opportunity for an educationalist to help shape the development of a secondary curriculum that will provide the platform needed for pupils to go on to some of the world’s leading universities. The successful candidate will be instrumental in ensuring that the educational offering aligns with the Brighton College commitment to building a world-class academic institution, distinctive in its own right, but with the Brighton College DNA at its core. They will be able to demonstrate the passion, expertise and ambition to take ownership of all aspects of the pupil experience of science teaching at secondary level.

The Head of Science will report to the Deputy Head Academic. They will be responsible for the pedagogical leadership of the science curriculum, and for ensuring that teaching excellence is embedded throughout all Key Stages. In August 2024, the Senior School at Brighton College (Singapore) will open with Years 7, 8 and 9. The Head of Science will teach across all Key Stage 3 year groups, and will be expected lead the teaching and learning at IGCSE and beyond as the school expands upwards from August 2025. The successful candidate will be able to teach at least one of the three main sciences (biology, chemistry or physics) to GCSE/IGCSE and A-level, and should be able to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering top academic results in public exams in previous roles.

Key Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the teaching, progress and attainment of all pupils in Years 7 to 9 from August 2024, and for all other senior year groups in the following years.
• Lead on all aspects of curriculum planning and delivery, including preparation for the first IGCSE Year 10 cohort starting in August 2025.
• Line manage all other science specialists in the Senior School (both teachers and lab technicians).

• Demonstrate the experience and expertise needed to support pupils in future years with applications to leading universities, including Oxford and Cambridge and other world-class universities.
• Ensure pupils have opportunities to prepare for, and participate in, global science competitions and Olympiads, providing appropriate stretch and challenge.
• Work closely with the Heads of EAL and AEN to develop pathways for pupils requiring additional support.
• Work with the Prep School science specialists and senior leaders to manage a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7.
• Develop the required curriculum and department documentation, both for current and prospective parents.
• Contribute to the highest standards of safeguarding and to the school’s pastoral system, acting as a tutor for a Senior School year group.
• Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
• Any other reasonable management request.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in a science subject (or any other specialism related to science) with PGCE or equivalent.
• Expert knowledge or experience of successfully delivering GCSEs/IGCSEs and A-level.
• Proven track record of middle leadership (preferred but not essential).
• International experience (preferred but not essential)
