Simulation Scientist:

We are looking for a simulation expert who will be part of the team developing a next-generation mobility simulation platform using an agent-based modelling approach. The platform is envisioned to be integrated with other modelling & simulation systems under a digital twin strategy. The responsibilities may include any of the following:

• Develop simulation modules for the agent-based simulator.
• Design and implement simulation scenarios.
• Develop behavioural rules for the simulation agents.
• Implement real-world dynamics including physical motion laws, power-flow, scheduling, and operational constraints as needed.
• Design, calibrate and validate simulation models.
• Optimise the performance of the simulation.
• Write research papers and present at conferences and communicate to project collaborators

Education and experience requirements:

• Ph.D. degree in a related discipline (transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines)
• At least 2 years of experience
• Strong interests and expertise in traffic simulation, statistical modeling, mathematical programming, reinforcement learning, and optimization
• Minimum of two years of experience in simulation development.

Technical skills:

• Strong proficiency in Java and Python programming languages.
• Familiarity with electrified mobility technologies, electric vehicles, and charging infrastructure.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Experience/familiarity with any of the following is a plus:

For this position, we would require a post-doctoral fellow to engage in designing and running of multiple CRISPR genome screens, to interrogate and identify genes that are responsible for a host of different genome instability phenomenon uncovered in our lab in human carcinogenesis

Qualifications

The successful candidate should possess the following:

UWCSEA is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of High School Physical Education and Sports Science to join our Dover Campus in August 2025.

The successful candidate must have a tertiary qualification in relevant subjects and a recognised teaching qualification, with successful experience teaching secondary physical education. The successful candidate will teach core Wellness and Physical Education classes for all grade 9 and 10 students and possibly teach our bespoke UWCSEA Sport Science course available as an option to Grade 9 and 10 students. UWCSEA delivers IB DP Sport, Exercise and Health Science at both Higher and Standard level in Grades 11 and 12, prior experience of teaching IB Sport Science would be an advantage. The successful candidate will be an excellent and inspiring practitioner who is passionate about delivering an engaging concept based PE curriculum.
