Position: Research Assistant (Bachelor degree/Master level)

We are seeking a motivated Research Assistant (RA) to support a multidisciplinary project that investigates prevention strategies for dengue and Covid-19 in Singapore (https://www.cnrsatcreate.cnrs.fr/space/). Tasks:

• Conduct literature reviews on the use of digital technologies and AI applications in public health, focusing on dengue and Covid-19 prevention, monitoring, and control.
• Assist with data collection through interviews with stakeholders (public health officials, tech developers, researchers) and through document analysis of government reports, policies, and relevant publications.
• Support comparative analysis of prevention strategies, focusing on digital technologies (mobile apps, AI, IoT, drones) used in different countries.
• Analyze secondary health data (e.g. dengue incidence rates, app usage statistics, etc.) and integrate qualitative findings from interviews.
• Assist in preparing academic manuscripts, policy briefs, and presentations.

Qualifications:

Opportunity to perform high-throughut chemical screens on cell lines and patient-derived tumor cells. We are looking to hire someone who is interested in doing wet lab experiments. The main responsibilities of the position include:

a) Research tasks: 90%

• To perform cell-based assay such as apoptosis, cytoxociity, cell proliferation, immunophenotyping, BH3 profiling.

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

One Research Engineer position is open in the research group of Assistant Professor Zhao Lin, at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS).

The Research Engineer (RE) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI) on visual navigation foundation model for mobile robots, exploration using reinforcement learning control, learning-based control, etc. The RE will develop and train algorithms that enable intelligent and robust autonomous navigation in unseen environments. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research fellow, you will lead projects to optimise microalgae cultivation processes and apply bio-physical techniques to improve nutritional and organoleptic properties. Appointments will be initially made on a 1-year contract, renewable for up to 5 years.

Job Description

The Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health (GloW) aims to build a global research platform for transdisciplinary endeavours to address major health concerns over a woman's lifespan and across generations. Through its main hub in Singapore, the Centre will engage in multi-disciplinary research to promote women’s health, including a series of diet and lifestyle intervention studies.

Purpose of the role

The project coordinator/manager will play a key role in dietary intervention studies by actively managing and coordinating diet and lifestyle intervention studies in GloW. Responsibilities include development, implementation and monitoring of meal plans, educating participants as needed, collecting dietary data, and performing administrative duties to ensure the studies’ success and compliance. The staff will work closely with Principal Investigators of intervention studies, collaborate closely with the research team, food service team, and other relevant stakeholders, as well as undertake other ad-hoc responsibilities assigned by the Centre’s Director as needed.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The staff will hold a few key responsibilities, including

(1) Intervention study coordinator:

• Recruit and interview study participants for the intervention study
• Implement methods for collecting dietary data, including detailed food intake records and compliance monitoring.

The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow position in the characterization of adaptive immunity against emerging highly pathogenic viruses, within the Infectious Diseases Translational Research Programme (ID TRP) at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The programme has strong expertise in bacterial antibiotic resistance, multidrug resistance, and emerging viruses, covering areas such as epidemiology, molecular mechanisms, animal models, and therapeutic and prophylactic interventions. Other active areas of research include phage biology, pneumococcal infections, and microbiome studies. Appointments will initially be made on a yearly contract basis, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong passion for emerging viral diseases, who is eager to contribute to advancing our understanding of infectious disease threats in this region and to help strengthen preparations for future pandemics. As a Research Fellow (RF), you will play a pivotal role in the project, working closely with the Principal Investigator and the broader study team to ensure the project is completed on time and with high impact.

The primary responsibility of the RF will be to lead the project independently, while also collaborating closely with our regional study partners.
