A Senior Research Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Kazuyuki Kasahara at the Novena campus of the LKCMedicine. The Laboratory of Applied Human Genetics at the National Cancer Centre Singapore is a multi-disciplinary laboratory with specific focus on peritoneal malignancies and sarcoma. The direction of our laboratory is to solve real world clinical problems via sound scientific translation. Since the conception of our laboratory 7 years ago, we have now set up three scientific pillars of Therapeutics, Companion Diagnostic and CAPTIVATE (Target Generation) pipeline. We have a great opportunity for a laboratory technician role to join Sequential team.The core functions of this role are to assist in the daily operation of our Molecular Biology team. These functions include performing accurate molecular-based testing, develop and validate molecualr assays.

Key duties include:

• Assist in conducting laboratory experiments related to skin microbiome analysis, including sample collection, DNA extraction, and microbial culture.
• Support senior researchers in performing molecular techniques such as qPCR, DNA sequencing, and microbiome analysis.
• Help in managing and maintaining laboratory equipment and inventory.
• Contribute to data collection, organization, and initial analysis.
• Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records.
• Provide support in preparing reports, documentation, and presentations.
• Stay updated on basic microbiome and molecular biology techniques.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Familiarity with basic laboratory techniques such as pipetting, sample handling, and microbiology protocols.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn and work in a team-oriented environment.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and record-keeping.

Experience

• Hands-on experience on performing DNA-based test, e.g. DNA extraction, PCR and qPCR.
• Practical knowledge of basic microbiological handling techniques is highly preferred.

Job Responsible:

• Prepare and conduct lessons: Tailor lessons in accordance with our curriculum with a holistic understanding of your student’s learning needs to meet the unique needs and learning styles of individual students.
• Curriculum Development: Work with our curriculum development team to create useful learning materials.
• Motivation: Inspire and motivate students to excel academically and develop a love for learning. Be a role model for your students. Give appropriate advice to students to improve students’ holistic development.
• Communication: Monitor your class progression and provide honest and helpful feedback with suggestions to parents on a regular basis to improve the student’s conduct or academic performance.

Administrative:

• Prepare lesson plans and teaching materials
• Check with students on their exam dates, record students’ test results, evaluate students’ test papers

Requirement:
