About Rewards Content (giftcards)
The Rewards Content team is a dynamic group at the forefront of creating exceptional rewards experiences. Our mission is to deliver a seamless integration service that connects world-class rewards content providers, such as gift cards, merchandise, and merchant offers, with Ascenda’s end-to-end rewards platform. By enabling a rich and reliable catalog of high-quality content, we empower our platform to deliver unparalleled value to customers worldwide.
About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer in the Rewards Contents (giftcards) team, you will play a critical role in building and scaling the integration services that power our rewards platform. You will be working with cutting-edge technologies to create robust, scalable, and secure systems. Your contributions will directly impact the quality and breadth of rewards content available to our users globally.
What you bring to the table:
Integration Services Development
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable integration services for rewards content providers, including gift cards, merchandise, and merchant offers.
- Build APIs and connectors to seamlessly integrate with world-class suppliers.
Content Catalog Management
- Develop and enhance systems that manage the catalog of rewards content, ensuring comprehensive and accurate representation within Ascenda’s platform.
- Implement efficient data pipelines for ingesting, updating, and auditing supplier content.
Content Fulfillment Automation
- Create and optimize workflows for fulfilling rewards content across diverse categories, ensuring timely and reliable delivery to users.
- Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration or fulfillment issues.
Quality Assurance and Standards
- Enforce high standards of content quality by implementing validation, monitoring, and compliance checks for supplier integrations.
- Continuously improve the reliability and performance of the integration services through testing and proactive maintenance

End to end ownership of projects
- Own problems from end to end, managing complexity and engaging directly with other teams to think through everything from business impact, to reliability and operability, to the ease of integration, and the expressiveness of our product APIs.
What we're looking for:
- Strong technical background, prior experience in building large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems on the Cloud. Strong foundation in systems architecture, with a good understanding of infrastructure, networking, and databases. Skilled at optimizing these components while integrating reliability and performance considerations throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Fluent with our main backend programming language - Ruby, or, having a strong aptitude and desire to pick up and be proficient in Ruby.
- Relevant experience participating in technical roadmaps/RFCs
- Great collaborator, comfortable working across a variety of teams beyond engineering, including product, design, business, operations, customer service, and external stakeholders.
- 5 - 8 years of software engineering experience.
- You prefer simple solutions and designs over complex ones, and have a good intuition for what will last and scale.
