Key Responsibilities:
- Managing a technical team locally to support China engineering team and Singapore Product team on sizing, designing and developing of battery system solutions for the EV/Marine application and specialty applications.
- Working closely with the Sales / Business Development team on project planning and government project engagements. Professionally engaging potential customers for project opportunities alongside with BD team. Liaising and leading with customer on technical discussion
- Involving and supporting the management team on the execution of key strategic initiatives in the automotive market.
- Act as the primary technical liaison between Durapower’s engineering team and automotive OEMs customers, ensuring seamless integration of Durapower’s battery modules and systems into commercial EV platforms.
- Analyse client specifications to align Durapower’s battery solutions with broader automotive subsystems, including powertrain, ECU, VCU, BMS, and fail-safe systems.
- Technical support to Singapore local project commissioning and aftersales team, as a consultant, for installing, integrating, commission a battery system on customer site. Also provide training of skillsets and knowledge to the project team, to build the capability of the project commissioning and aftersales team.
- Working with the quality team to review and enhance the existing product and testing, to ensure the quality and standards of the product.
- Ensure design validation and compliance with automotive safety and quality standards (e.g., ISO 26262, IATF 16949), guaranteeing the seamless integration of battery systems into commercial EVs.
- Working with the simulation team to analyze the capabilities of the proposed solution, to improve the engineering design and system configuration and integration, thus, to strengthen the mechanical structure as well as prolong the system cycle life.
- Conduct risk assessments, oversee project execution, and coordinate with Durapower’s Suzhou plant for manufacturing, testing, and timely delivery.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronic, Electrical and Electronic.
- 8–15 years of experience in automotive design and vehicle system integration projects, specifically incorporating EV HV battery solutions.
- Automotive Electrification international standards, eg, UN, ISO, IEC, UL, CE, and etc anadvantage
- Background knowledge on BESS system design, integration, and technical pre-sales and aftersales skills
- Strong understanding of automotive subsystems, including electrical and electronic and software-driven components, along with expertise in international safety and quality standards.
- Owneership of assigned projects from interfacing with customers, technical negotiation/discussion, system design development, comissioning to aftersales.
- Good leadership, interpersonal, and bilingual communication skills (English and Mandarin) to collaborate effectively with international teams.
- Experience working with cross-cultural teams and a willingness to travel to Suzhou, China, as required.
