Roles and responsibilities:

• Produce complete control solution and software design base on customer specification.
• PLC based software control design & HMI software design
• Integration of third-party equipment and components into software design Example data communication, barcode scanner, motion control, transducer, vision system and signal conditional
• Developing and troubleshooting PLC & HMI/ SCADA program
• Troubleshooting electrical components & system control
• Prepare Machine I/O, flow chart, interface time chart, data allocation list, setup procedure and software softcode
• Documentation of machine operation manual for the project
• Liaise with the Customer, Design and Project Engineer for the software development and execution of the project
• Read and change electrical drawing when necessary on customer site
• Execute Engineering Change Notice (ECN) for change of software
• Maintain proper project documentation
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures
• Able to perform assigned tasks independently or through team activities
• Self-motivated, resourceful and organized
• Willing to travel overseas for assignments at short notice
• Good interpersonal communication skills

Job Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Electronics/ Automation Control or equivalent
• Min. 2 years relevant experience in Automation project
• Experience in PLC programming & SCADA design is a must
• Knowledge of Mitsubishi, Alley-Bradley, SCADA WinCC
• Knowledge of C, C++, C#, .NET is an added advantage
• Knowledge of robot programming is an added advantage
• The Software Engineer is in charge of developing Application Control software for the automated machines developed by the company
• Work together with the engineering team to design and implement the automation machine solutions to the clients
• In charge of developing PC-based windows application control software development for automated machines
• Participate in system conceptualisation, design and continuous improvement projects
• Analyse and document software requirements and software design
• Work with team members for testing and qualification of new machine software
• Provide field support during equipment installation and upgrade
• Provide maintenance and upgrade support for existing machines in the field
• Lead and assist team members as appropriate
• Takes ownership of Project planning and management

Job Description

This position is for a full-time Software Engineer to join Keysight’s Quantum Engineering Solutions (QES) organization, which is responsible for producing world-leading solutions in quantum technologies, including quantum computing, quantum communications and quantum sensing. As a Solution Developer, you will be part of an R&D team and launch breakthrough software solutions to market. You will engage in every stage of our product development process, addressing intricate technical challenges in a customer-centric environment. Your role will focus on integrating open-source quantum computing software with quantum control systems, ensuring seamless execution of workflows in HPC and cloud environments. You will design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions for quantum workloads, collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop integration tools, and optimize HPC workflows for distributed quantum computing operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Integrate open-source quantum computing software with quantum control systems to enable seamless execution of experiments and workflows in cloud environments.
• Design and implement scalable cloud-based solutions for quantum computing workloads, ensuring high performance and efficient resource utilization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop APIs, libraries, and tools that enhance the integration of quantum software and control systems.
• Work closely with technology teams in an Agile environment to integrate cloud services and optimize operational efficiency.
• Ensure best practices in cloud operations, establish key performance indicators, and develop and enforce cloud security and compliance measures.

Job Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Over 5 years of experience, including leading cloud platforms in public cloud environments.
• Strong experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) and cloud platforms, including deploying and optimizing distributed computing workflows for high-performance applications.
• Proficiency in Python, C#, C++, JavaScript, and other modern programming languages (e.g., Golang, Julia).
• Experience in integrating complex software systems, including APIs, libraries, and tools, with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer.
• Good knowledge of DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and cost management.
• Good understanding of quantum information science is desired but not mandatory.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work in a collaborative environment and to develop teamwork among individuals and over geographically disperse teams.
• High tolerance for ambiguity, results-oriented, meets timelines, handles pressure while working positively in a collaborative manner.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to learn proactively.

Responsibilities:

• Design, development, testing and support of firmware/embedded software applications for microcontroller based wireless systems.
• Develop software communication protocols for wireless communication systems
• Drive technology/development projects in all phrases from specification to release.
• Read or understand electronics schematic and system design.
• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure project delivery on time.
• Define and create product software specification including software architecture, feature descriptions and applications notes of the system
• Research technical issues and/or opportunities and provide recommendations.
• Participate in ad hoc software projects and assignments as required

Requirements:

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Computer Science, Software Engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in real time embedded system
• Must process strong knowledge of C/C++ language
• Experience with Arm, Cortex based microcontroller is required
• Strong Knowledge of the communication transport protocol like I2C, SPI, UART and USB
• Understanding of the Bluetooth protocol and stack is a plus.
• Familiarity with DSP programming is an added advantage
• Excellent teamwork skills, flexibility, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Able to manage one's own time efficiently
