The Solution Architect will be responsible for the design and thought leadership throughout the full life cycle of a customer's journey. The individual will have the opportunity to be engaged from pre-sales activities focusing on the development of leads, initial scoping, high level solution designing, estimation and statement of work generation. Then within the delivery phase you will work closely with our delivery teams to bridge the gap between the high level solution design and low level solution design.  Supporting the delivery implementation, providing guidance and leadership. Besides the customer engagements you will look to use your experience and that of the large Solution team in assisting in the creation and design of our next generation of products and services, allowing you to develop truly impactful solutions which you will help to take to market working with internal teams and partners.

Job Requirements

• Pre Sales Activities: Work with the Sales and Delivery Team to support the development of leads, estimates, resource planning, ultimately resulting in the production of a statement of work for the customer. 
• Solution Design: Creation of the high and low level designs and architecting systems in a cloud native fashion on any of the 3 major cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure). Provide review and quality assurance across the team’s output. 
• Collaborate with delivery: Work with the DevOps, Data Engineering and Application Development delivery teams to bridge the gap between the solution designs ensuring that delivery of the solutions are inline with the requirements of the customers. 
• Solution Development: Taking insight and feedback from Sales, Client Partners and industry to develop new solutions and products which will help benefit our customers. Then working with the engineering teams and in collaboration design and delivering these new solutions which can be taken to market. 
• Data Solutions Subject Matter Expert: Act as an authoritative source for both internal and external queries in the space of “Data Solutions” focusing on  Data Migrations, ETL Pipelines, Data Modelling and AI/ML practices.
• Continuous Learning: Set aside the time to develop skills and knowledge to broaden your experience and understanding of the Cloud and Data space. Work to share this knowledge internally and externally through evangelism, utilizing different forums and mediums,

What will you do?

The Team aims to spearhead the digital transformation of government. The GCC (Government Commercial Cloud) platform provides a federated agency hosting and infrastructure through modern cloud architecture implementation and the modernising of Government applications through adoption of agile development practices.

The Team is seeking independent and motivated Solution Engineer who has experience in both small and big scale cloud-based projects, to support agencies and the GCC product team to create value in the GCC platform. This role will work closely with the agency users, GCC product and partnering teams, using a collaborative approach with strong technical understanding, to assist and ensure that the GCC platform continues to add value to agencies.

• Work directly with GCC engineering team, product team and various key stakeholders.
• Support development of proof-of-concepts for GCC platform in concert with product team and various stakeholders.
• Take ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organisation.
• Provide system troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains, expect to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues.
• Assist in the migration activities for GCC platforms.

What are we looking for?

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• User-centric mindset. Be able to represent users’ viewpoints on GCC in order to drive changes & innovations to meet their needs.
• 5 years of experience working as a Business Analyst and/or Software Architect role
• Passion for automation, standardization and best practices.
• Solid hands-on experience in designing, building, deploying and securing of highly available web application in cloud platform such as AWS, Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with DevOps tools such as Gitlab or Azure DevOps
• Experience with back-end technologies such as Node.js, Python, or Go
• Good understanding of network components such as load balancers, firewalls, VPNs, and DNS.
• Good understanding of DevOps principles and practices, knowledge in DevSecOps will be an added advantage.
• Self-motivated with good communication skills.
• Experience in an Agile development environment focusing on rapid, quality delivery.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and meticulousness in handling figures and processes in a high-agility environment.

Preference:

• Experience with managing cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, preferred.
