Position Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled IT Infrastructure Specialist to manage and enhance our IT systems, ensuring efficient and uninterrupted operations. This role suits individuals who excel in maintaining secure IT environments, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards, and collaborating within a dynamic team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and optimise computer networks and IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and cloud-based systems, to support operational needs.
- Develop and implement security measures and best practices for data protection and information security, including creating policies, managing access controls, and performing vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Oversee software updates, apply system patches, and maintain hardware components to ensure the security and functionality of IT systems, including storage, devices, and networks.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks to maintain the integrity and security of IT infrastructure.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot IT-related issues for colleagues, ensuring operations run smoothly.
- Train team members on secure computing practices and network safety protocols.
- Carry out additional tasks as required to support the organisation’s IT needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role. Certifications such as CCNS, CISSP, or MCSE are advantageous.
- Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Windows operating systems, network administration, cybersecurity, and advanced IT technologies (e.g., AI/ML, cloud solutions).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to diagnostics.
- A professional attitude with the ability to work independently and manage responsibilities with minimal oversight.
