Job Description
Maths Instructor, Mathnasium Singapore
Mathnasium is a maths only-learning centre that offers both maths help and enrichment to children in grades K – 9 / Sec 3. Each student in our program receives a customized learning plan based on our proprietary teaching materials.
Our centres in Singapore has received a strong reception from students and parents alike. We are seeking part time instructors to play a key role in its teaching and management.
The position includes teaching responsibilities as well as helping to manage instruction and student learning plans. There will be comprehensive training provided.
Job Responsibilities
· Teach, encourage and motivate children from K to Sec 3 using Mathnasium’s approach and materials
· Evaluate and document student progress
· Correct student work and provide positive, constructive feedback
· Communicate student needs to centre leadership and to instructional staff in a team teaching environment
· Assist in management tasks, which may include administrative assistance, curriculum preparation or other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
· Strong math skills and teaching experience (and an ability to handle children from K to grade 9/ Sec 3)
· Excellent communication and multi-tasking skills
· Ability to help manage a team of part time instructors
· Ability to professionally interact with students and parents
· Energetic and confident personality
Knowledge and experience of the Singapore primary and / or secondary school syllabus will be helpful. Most of our students are in primary school.
The learning centre environment will be supportive and encouraging. Applicants should love teaching and be able to motivate students to success.
Hours
This position is full time. Working hours are Monday 2.30 - 7.30pm, Tuesday – Friday 11.30am - 7.30pm and Saturday / Sunday 10am - 3pm with. Instructors will be entitled to one day off during the week.
