POSITION SUMMARY/MISSION

The Director, Global Supply Chain Sustainability is responsible for providing leadership and management of Samsonite’s supply chain sustainability program in support of Our Responsible Journey, the company’s global sustainability strategy. This role will focus on social and environmental topics including but not limited to human rights, climate, and sustainable materials. The role works closely with key internal and external partners, including our sourcing, product development, design, legal, and other teams, as well as with our suppliers and other partners.

This role will be based in Singapore.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The successful candidate will engage cross-functionally to drive and further evolve supply chain sustainability strategy and, importantly, partner on the implementation and delivery of these critical initiatives. The company is seeking an individual who is a skillful translator of a diverse set of topics to our regions and brands and who helps to effectively integrate and embed sustainability into the business, driving progress towards our global sustainability goals.

Strategy

• Partner with our Regional Presidents, Sourcing and Brand leads to provide strategic direction on how to implement the company’s commitments and goals in Our Responsible Journey in our supply chain, build out programs, procedures and governance;

• Maintain and evolve our Sustainable Material Guidance, in partnership with the regions;

• Provide strategic direction for our Global Social Compliance Program, working closely with the Associate Director, Social Compliance, who is responsible for the execution of the Program.

Engagement and Implementation

• Develop and lead supplier engagement program to support the execution and achievement of the company’s sustainability goals (e.g., Human Rights, Scope 3 climate initiatives, Sustainable Material Guidance etc.), in close partnership with the regions;

• Lead Human Rights Due Diligence work, partner with key functions to support internal and external implementation;

• Internal capability building with sourcing teams and business leads on Supply Chain Sustainability.

Monitoring

• Build and maintain an in-depth understanding of the risks and opportunities related to the environmental and social impacts of the company’s materials sourcing and manufacturing footprint;

• Monitor recent ESG developments and issues potentially affecting our supply chain;

• Monitor regulatory requirements and develop company response (e.g., CSDDD);

• Track company and supplier performance through suitable sustainability metrics in line with the company’s reporting requirements, in close collaboration with our Associate Manager, Sustainability;

• Support the ongoing monitoring and management of the Samsonite Human Rights approach (in collaboration with Sourcing and HR).

Others

• Contribute to the company’s annual sustainability data collection and ESG Report process as well as other sustainability communication, in close collaboration with our Manager, Sustainability Communications;

• Support other sustainability efforts as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements

Experience and qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, sustainability or similar.

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in sustainability, with at least 6 years focus on responsible sourcing, supply chain sustainability and/or Human Rights.

• Strong understanding of corporate sustainability, ESG, supply chains and procurement, familiarity with sustainability reporting.

Skills:

• Strong project management abilities, with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously.

• Successful track record of strategic planning with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Excellent communication and personal presentation skills.

• Experience managing in a decentralized corporate environment, with ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally with leaders at all levels.

Our Team:

The SEA & India Head reports to the Head of Supply Chain International, and manages Pharma and Vaccines Global Business Units, and leads cross Supply Chain activities for the region to ensure deliveries of products and services to support the business performance and to ensure the best possible forecasting and supply.

Main responsibilities:

• Define and drive the Supply Chain strategy to support top and bottom-line growth ambition of Commercial Operations of the markets in scope
• Represent the affiliate as the key Supply Chain stakeholder, both internally and externally to the company, acting as the primary contact for that country in the regional and global Supply Chain organization
• Lead the Supply Chain department transformation: Continuously review and recommend changes in the Supply Chain procedures and working practices; Contribute to the company’s cost optimization through project generation and implementation; Build a truly customer-centric organization
• Optimize cross-functional support needs in the local organization, ensuring effective communication between direct reports and with other teams serviced or impacted by the Supply Chain function, in particular Quality Operations, Sales & Marketing, Regulatory Affairs and Finance

Demand Planning and Supply

• To manage a demand plan for importation that will ensure on-time availability of products and to lower potential impact of Out Of Stock
• Liaise with Sales & Marketing and Finance to ensure an effective rolling-forecast process is in place
• Lead the trans-functional S&OP and IBP process, bringing anticipation/long term visibility & one single set of data
• Reduce level of destruction while improving forecast accuracy
• Support key launches and ensure 100% In Time Launches
• Ensure local coordination on all Sanofi Group (internal) and third-party (external) sourcing issues

Customers Focus

Supply Chain 360 Operational Management and Process Improvement (30%)

• Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, production, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
• Develop and manage inventory control processes and demand & supply planning to optimize for stock levels and cashflow, minimize waste, and reduce costs.

• Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with contract manufacturers/factories, suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure the procurement/manufacturing of high-quality materials & products at competitive prices.
• Support NPD/NPI and establish quality control standards: To ensure continuous improvement on products and support new product development, from sourcing, development to production. To work closely with contract manufacturers to implement product quality checks and audit processes.
• Ensure efficient logistics and distribution processes, including the management of third-party logistics (3PL) providers, to guarantee timely delivery of products to customers.

Regulatory, Import & Export operations (20%)

• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards in supply chain operations.
• Oversee and manage all import and export activities for consumer goods, including coordination with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines.
• Ensure timely and accurate documentation for all international shipments, including bills of lading, import/export declarations, and certificates of origin.

Team Leadership & Collaboration (20%)

• Lead, mentor, and develop the supply chain & operations team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and finance, to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives.

Skills & Qualifications

1. 10 or more years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the FMCG or CPG industry.
2. Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, 3rd party manufacturing and inventory management concepts and practices.
3. Able to speak Mandarin to liaise with Mandarin-speaking business partners and stakeholders

In this role, you will work closely with the regional teams to define, build and enhance the Precision supply road map in a way that provides consistent benefits while meeting unique market needs across APAC. • Identify commercially viable key supply partners and solutions – globally and regionally – that allow for a strong differentiation of our positioning in an increasingly cluttered marketplace

The ideal candidate will have had technical and commercial exposure to digital media planning & buying agencies, technical and strong supply management knowledge, very strong interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills and the ability to make clear, concise presentations. Also, an ability to build strong business cases for supply products and being able to program manage the roll out of solutions across markets in APAC is a key to success in this role.

A solid working knowledge of the following is desired: ad exchanges, sell side platforms, demand side platforms, online video, mobile media, ad operations / ad-serving systems and verification solutions. In addition to a strong affinity for technology and infrastructure development, a proven commercial awareness is a plus.

Responsibilities

Supply management

• Identify commercially viable key supply partners and solutions – globally and regionally – that allow for a strong differentiation of our positioning in an increasingly cluttered marketplace
• Work with existing supply side vendors on new product features, roll out and adoption. Explore, meet and test new supply solutions that may fulfill our clients’ needs
• Continuously define client needs and translate needs into opportunities for Precision
• Develop and negotiate supply partnerships to extract maximum media value and unique benefits that are only available to Precision and Publicis Media
• Establish key supply packages and offering catered to clients’ needs and seasonal offering
• Maintain and refine internal supply feedback loop with operations and agencies

Marketing and training

• Build supply marketing and training materials to be rolled out to agencies and regional markets in a systematic way. This may include hosting events with key launch partners, connecting with local markets on a regular basis, or regular email updates
• Conduct monthly supply updates and knowledge share
• Collaborate with Precision client servicing and account management teams to grow and maintain adoption

Team management

• Cultivate a center of operational expertise for Precision in Asia Pacific
• Manage and retain a small team of supply manager(s)
• Recruit the best talent in market

Qualifications

To be a successful candidate, you will be/have:

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Proven track record of top performance measured against product and supply development, maintenance and growth
• Extensive knowledge of data-driven and programmatic platforms such as DSPs, SSPs, Ad Exchanges as well as DMPs, Social Media Management platforms, DCO tools etc.
• 9+ years in digital media with experience with ability to project manage from start to finish
• Strong commercial experience and negotiation skills is a requirement
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Strong analytical thinking
• Ability to lead projects independently from start to finish, working with internal and external teams to make decisions and maintain forward momentum
• In-depth understanding of digital advertising landscape from either agency or sales perspective
• Excellent time management / project management skills, with ability to manage detail work and communicate project status effectively to all levels
