POSITION SUMMARY

An IT support individual is in charge of supporting end user technologies, including desktop, printers, devices and potentially network and systems of all types, providing technical support and ensuring the whole company runs smoothly. IT Support monitors and maintains the company computer systems, installs, and configures hardware and software, and solves technical problems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide support for end user desktops and laptops which include but not limited to internal hardware component replacements.
• Network, Desktop & Server OS support & administration.
• Provide first level troubleshooting & installation of software or firmware applications.
• Install, support & maintain IT peripherals such as keyboard, printer, projector & others.
• Support recurring tasks such as back up, patch management, IT system monitoring, cyber-security protection from viruses and spam wares attack, etc.
• Liaise & coordinate with IT vendors/suppliers on IT purchases, projects & support IT systems.
• Update IT inventory & Licences, ensuring appropriate and sufficient level of vendor support.
• Attend to emergency calls & weekend /off hours support.
• Any other responsibilities & ad hoc assignment as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• NITEC or higher.
• Min 1 year experience in IT field works.
• Knowledge of current Windows & mobile operating systems.
• Good knowledge in IT hardware & administration support for Microsoft Windows.
• Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.
• Candidates familiar Microsoft Dynamics NAV, Microsoft Windows.
• Server & Microsoft SQL Server will have an added advantage.

• Ensure the integrity and readiness of production systems within the Payment System team for the APAC region.
• Provide Level 2 support and troubleshoot production incidents, including critical system interfaces within the Payment System.
• Assist the Incident Manager by identifying and implementing preventive and detective measures, while delivering root cause analysis for production issues.
• Collaborate with the IT Planner to achieve project objectives, facilitating production transitions for new system launches and system change requests.
• Identify process gaps and propose system improvements accordingly.
• Develop and standardize processes, ensuring integration, implementation, and documentation align with established standards.
• Recommend and implement suitable processes for automation to enhance efficiency.
• Lead and coordinate projects, including support for change requests. Conduct requirement analysis to facilitate system enhancements, fixes, and emergency application changes.
• Escalate risks and issues to relevant stakeholders promptly.
• Participate in disaster recovery exercises, contributing to system restoration efforts.
• Organize and lead regular meetings with developers and vendors to resolve issues.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in Application or System Support, preferably within a banking or financial institution.
• Possesses hands-on experience in supporting payment systems.
• Experienced in an Enterprise Application Support environment, collaborating with developers, infrastructure teams, service desks, and business users.
• Has functional expertise in payment systems such as GIRO, FAST, CTS, MEPS+, overseas and domestic remittances, internet banking, and customer eAdvices.
• Demonstrates technical proficiency in applications hosted on both Windows and Linux platforms, with the ability to perform database queries (SQL Server, Oracle) and manage application services on these systems.
• Skilled in scripting languages, including DOS and Shell scripting.
