We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Technician and Survey Assistant to join our team. This role will involve supporting environmental monitoring and survey activities across various land and marine environments. The successful candidate will assist in collecting and analysing environmental data, operating field equipment, and supporting survey teams in both field and lab settings. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in environmental surveys, including water, soil, and air quality assessments.
- Collect, record, and process samples from various ecosystems (marine and terrestrial).
- Set up, operate, and maintain environmental monitoring equipment such as water quality probes, GPS devices, and surveying instruments.
- Assist in mapping, measuring, and documenting environmental features and conditions.
- Help prepare survey reports and data summaries for analysis and reporting.
- Follow established safety and environmental protocols while conducting fieldwork.
- Support the environmental team in organizing and managing survey equipment and data.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Relevant qualifications in environmental science, biology, or a related field.
- Prior experience in environmental monitoring or survey work is an advantage but not required.
- Strong interest in environmental conservation and sustainability.
- Knowledge of environmental monitoring equipment and survey techniques (marine and land-based).
- Any diving experience or drone piloting experience will be an advantage.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Physical ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise procedures.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience working at sea on a boat is preferable.
