Medtronic’s Tax Department consists of over 100 tax professionals and support personnel located in different locations in the United States (U.S) and six different locations outside the U.S. The Tax Department is broken down into seven major groups: Reporting & Tax Accounting, Compliance, M&A and Tax Planning, Audits & Controversy, Transfer Pricing and International Taxes. This position reports into the International Tax Senior Manager located in Singapore. In this role, the Tax Accountant, Asia Pacific (APAC), will have responsibility over designated countries’ income tax compliance (managing an outsourced provider), audits, and tax planning. In addition, this person will have responsibility over selected APAC tax region projects as well as assist the Merger & Acquisition (M&A) Tax group with APAC M&A (and joint venture) deals, APAC acquisition integrations and divestitures. This position will require delivering technical analysis on various APAC regional and global projects, researching complex tax related issues and work in collaboration with other persons in the Tax Department, Controllers, Finance, Treasury, Legal and business stakeholders. • Providing support to the wider Corporate Tax team on all internal quarterly tax reporting matters (e.g. FIN 48 positions, income tax rates, withholding tax rates, tax holiday checklist, tax audit log, thin capitalization review, evaluation of valuation allowances, etc.); including analyses for the APAC region;
• Support in the reviewing of all corporate income tax returns and payment requests for entities prepared either by local Controllers or external service providers;
• Providing support to the APAC Team on all income tax queries, income tax audits and relationships with local tax authorities;
• Monitoring changes in local tax legislation, rulings, regulations and litigation;
• Support the APAC team on requests by APAC business partners on technical tax considerations and applicability to MDT; and
• Providing implementation support for any regional or global projects

Other Responsibilities:

Responsibilities

Management and Financial Reporting:

•Assist Finance Manager on the overall management of the accounting records and financial reports of the hotel ensuring compliance with group, company owner, statutory fiscal requirements, and timelines.

• Manage and oversee the filing of regular tax returns, tax audit / inquiries and notices from tax authorities, GST/VAT and withholding tax
• Lead implementation of Pillar 2 compliance for the Group
• Assist the group to comply with transfer pricing rules and plan comprehensive tax and transfer pricing strategies through the use of Organisation for Economic Cooperation (OECD) guidelines' and Singapore transfer pricing guidelines' methodologies.
• Manage all Singapore GST matters for the group ensuring tax compliance with GST regulations
• Provide advice on all tax matters including day-to-day tax planning and advisory / operational business support, review of commercial contracts and cross-border transactions, tax reporting and tax due diligence.
• Monitor and analyse the impact of proposed and newly enacted tax legislation on the business in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Identify tax efficient opportunities and assist with all aspects of tax strategy management, business acquisition and restructuring initiatives, tax efficient structuring and mitigation of tax risks.
• Support the tax provisioning process for the finance team.

• At least 10 years of relevant experience in corporate and international shipping tax with prior experience in Big 4
• Familiar with Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Singapore Transfer Pricing guidelines.

· Responsible for monthly actuals and forecasting loading, and quarterly tax pack, and fluctuation analysis.

· Prepare Form 5 for Quarterly GST submission, monitor and safekeeping the GST documents, liaise with tax auditor and support for GST audit during renewal process of Major Exporter Scheme (MES)

FP&A

· Preparation of weekly/monthly/quarterly forecast including preparation of working and uploading to Onestream system

· Assist to coordinate with Sales and Operation team to collect forecast data

· Timely track on order, Sales and Weekly/Monthly/as and when update to Sales team and Management on Actual result

· Involved in implementation of internal controls and emphasize on SOX compliance.

Financial Control and Compliance

· Assist with financial control tasks as requested from Finance Manager and the team.

Job Requirements
