Job Description:

• Consistently maintaining regular observation and evaluation of child’s development and progress
• Ensure safety of each child through close supervision, whether in the classroom, play area, or any other areas in the school compound
• Conduct childcare routines in a manner that is prompt, hygienic and consistent with early child development practices. These routines include diapering, feeding, bathing, hand washing, napping and transitioning between activities
• Assist to maintain daily journal of milk feeds, solid feeds, diapering etc, in accordance to relevance for each age group.

Requirements:

• Certificate in Infant/Toddler Care and Development (CIT) / Higher Certificate in Infant Care (HCIC) / Advanced Certificate in Early Years (ACEY) is a must

UWCSEA is seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of High School Psychology to join our Dover Campus in August 2025.

The successful candidate will teach IB Diploma Psychology in Grades 11 and Grade 12, and our UWCSEA Psychology courses in Grades 9 and 10. It would be advantageous for the candidate to teach another subject within the High School. Experience in subjects within Humanities would currently be preferred. Teaching of Theory of Knowledge classes is also an expectation of our High School staff.

• Teachers should ensure assessments support ongoing learning and provide timely, relevant and appropriate feedback to students on formative and summative assessments.
• Teachers should demonstrate effective classroom management that shows an understanding of the academic, social and emotional dimensions of learning.
• Teachers are involved in our Personal and Social Education programme through the support of a mentor group of students.
• Teachers should keep parents informed about the learning of their children, and be proactive in communication with parents.

Person Specifications

• A good degree in Psychology or a closely related discipline and a recognized teaching qualification or certification are expected.
• Successful prior experience of teaching Psychology in the 14-­18 age range is required.
• Academic expectations include enthusiastic participation in Professional Learning
• Pastoral expectations include the leadership of a mentor group unless the teacher is exempted due to other responsibilities
• On average the College expects a yearly contribution of two sessions per week in each season toActivities and/or Service.
• Teachers should be willing and eager to participate in the five key elements of a UWCSEA education: Academics; Activities; Outdoor Education; Personal and Social Education and Service
• The College expects that teachers will participate enthusiastically in the curricular Outdoor Education experiences which are relevant to their students and will also occasionally volunteer for holiday Outdoor Education trips.
