Job Scope:

Monitors and controls the safe and cost-efficient technical operation of all assigned vessels using the available resources, within the defined parameters of cost, commercial viability, and operational excellence in line with Owners' expectations. Ensure environmental compliance policies are upheld.

- Assists in promoting and supporting BSM’s strategic goals

Ship technical support

- Understands the contractual agreements with customers to be able to deliver the same with regards to the ship management services for each assigned vessel, in a safe and cost efficient manner.

- Keeps close contact with clients, maintains good working relationships with client representatives who are involved in the operations of the company's vessels

- Provides technical and operational support to assigned vessels

Safety of Operations

- Monitors the effective operation of the equipment and machinery of the assigned vessels, identifying potential discrepancies from operational standards and proposes and/or implements solutions that will enhance the efficiency, performance and safety of the vessels.

- Participates in the development of the maintenance and repairs plan for the assigned vessels and monitors its accurate execution

- Arranges and executes Drydock activities at regular intervals

- Develops, maintains, monitors and reports budgets for all assigned vessels

- Monitors all vessels trading certificates to ensure compliance with existing maritime legislation, safety regulations and operational standard requirements of all regulatory bodies.

Execution of technical inspections / internal audits

- Manages all vessel visits, audits and inspections effectively right from planning to implementation and follow up with the aim of supporting and enhancing the operational efficiency of the assigned vessels.

- Responsible for communication, promotion and implementation of company's health, safety, environment and quality policy on board the vessels related to technical.

- In liaison with LPSQ and FPD, assists and supports sea staff with alignment of technical requirements.

- Assists with the Company initiatives regarding the human element

Purchasing activities

- Ensures ship requisitions are handled timely and as per QDMS procedures

Management of resources

- Coach, engage, motivate, mentor employees to develop their strengths and build their capabilities as per their defined roles and personal goal

- Identifies training needs and provides on board training to ship staff during ship visits.

Requirements

Education and Qualifications:

- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or equivalent, or

Chief Engineer’s qualification

Work Experience:

- 3 years of sailing experience as Senior Officer, or

- 3 years of shore experience as a technical superintendent with a ship management/owning company

- Preferably experienced on the same type of vessel as he/she is expected to supervise

Job-Specific Skills:

- Strong knowledge of vessels’ technical requirements and voyage regulations

Data Migration Execution:

What you will be doing:

• Work closely with our Head of Flex & Trading Analytics and our Director Trading & Portfolio Management to assist them in their decision making by providing them with the insights which they need to achieve make these decisions;
• Work closely with our data engineers and external stakeholders;
• Create dashboards in our BI tool (Holistics) which will show our day-to-day results and our longer term PnL expectations;
• Write data models in dbt using SQL, which will power these dashboards;
• Analyse new business opportunities in Singapore & Australia, using for instance Jupyter notebooks;
• Build models to make price and demand forecasts for the Australian & Singaporean market.

You will be a good candidate if you:

• Have had your masters degree at a technical university, or a similar degree;
• Have a proven track record of 1-3 years of experience working with data analytical tasks;
• Have experience working with tools like Jupyter, Holistics (or similar BI tools), dbt, SQL databases, version control systems like Git, and CI/CD pipelines;
• Have experience programming in Python & writing queries in SQL.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Ensure that all electrical and electronic equipment, wiring installation, appliances, and peripherals are tested functionally to be in pristine working condition.
2. Ensure that all bulky, furniture, electrical and electronic donated items received are accounted for in accordance to the Collection Note/Service Note and properly handled and placed in respective inbound holding area.
3. Ensure all incoming items are inventoried and keyed into the inventory system.
4. Price all items at a reasonably and practically marketable and retail-able rate.
5. Clean all donated items to retail-able condition before sending to retail stores.
6. Ensure that all items prior to delivery are properly packed, labeled and accompanied with correct documentation before distribution to the various stores.
7. Maintain proper documentation and reports with regular update.
8. Undertake any projects and specific duties as assigned by Management from time to time.

Attended secondary education

1. Posses knowledge in troubleshooting electrical and electronic items.
2. Possess basic computer knowledge.
3. Able to perform refurbishing work on the donated electronic items and furniture to retail-able condition.
