• Strong understanding of optical fiber networking and communications principles.

Overview

As a Maintenance Engineer (Senior / Assistant), you are responsible for maintaining and repairing the heavy machinery, plant equipment, tools and systems used in the manufacturing, engineering and other industrial production processes. You are to ensure that all machineries and equipment are in good working conditions as and when are needed.

Responsibilities

1. Manage, oversee and lead the Maintenance team to ensure minimum downtime of Facility, Machinery and Equipment.
2. Strategize on maintenance regime, maintenance supplies, work instruction and methods.
3. Create plant preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
4. Conduct routine inspections and periodic maintenance checks on machines to keep them running smoothly.
5. Plan equipment upgrading and machinery modifications for improvement or prolong efficiency.
6. Plan, order, replenish, inventory keeping of machinery parts.
7. Analyze gaps to ensure programmes meets customers’ and company requirements.
8. Analyze breakdowns, diagnose faults and supervise time critical equipment repairs.
9. Offer technical expertise and necessary in-house training to Maintenance team, Operations team (i.e.: supervisor, foreman, fitters, technicians, etc.) and others.
10. Manage budget for current and future equipment upgrades, replacements and maintenances.
11. Resource, coach, mentor and motivate direct reports to create a high performing team.
12. Ensure the cause of non-conformities are properly investigated and analyzed all corrective and preventive actions taken are effective.
13. Responsible for control of maintenance cost, procurement of new components for existing equipment, or replacing the entire set of machines after a prescribed period of usage is complete.
14. Ensure all ISO documentations relating to Maintenance of plant machineries are up-to-date.
15. Report to Production Manager and Top Management on the performance of the quality management system including opportunities for improvements.
16. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management and/or the designated manager.

Requirements

1. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance in an automation / equipment manufacturing environment. OR
2. Higher NITEC in Mechanical Engineering or related / Professional Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in maintenance in an automation / equipment manufacturing environment.
3. Able to multi-task, work independently, proactive with positive attitude.
4. Resilient, self-driven and analytical.
5. A strong problem solver with an eye for detail and an analytical mind.
6. Able to stand, stoop, squat and kneel for long periods of times, as well as lift, push and pull large machine parts or machines or machines as needed.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
8. Familiar with various ISO / QMS standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 45001.
9. Able to work on weekends / public holidays when required.

Maintenance

• Provide technical services to maintain and troubleshoot different computer and electrical systems.
• Attend and carry out Fault Finding and Diagnosis of systems breakdowns, both on a mechanical and electrical basis, with a focus on providing high levels of service and response times.
• Follow Preventive Maintenance work schedules to specified standards and procedures and maintain all relevant written records
• Follow up and close all incidents, issues and request timely
• Support Project Team on some site installations and testing and commissioning matters.
• Be available for on call and stand by duty procedures and other responsibilities required.
• To follow all company business operation and SOP at all times
• Participate actively in Health Safety and Environment programs and activities in order to achieve Company’s KPIs, ISO 14001 objectives and target. Proactively rectify any abnormalities, unsafe acts or unsafe situations and report to supervisor accordingly.

Requirements

• Higher Nitec in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering
• At least 1-2 years of relevant working experience
• Possess at least Class 3 license manual to operate vehicle for onsite support
• Knowledge on computer server maintenance, network troubleshooting, basic software troubleshooting.
• Knowledge on Firewall, Backup solution and Anti-virus solution
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to perform standby duties after office hours and provide onsite support, if required.

Technical Responsibilities

• Undertake design document reviews and possess in depth knowledge of project specification, relevant international codes, industry standards and relevant Classification Rules and Regualtion
• Prepare in-service design concept and perform detailed design as required by project. Prepare and deliver structural design sketches and structural calculations report at project datelines and quality.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination with multi-disciplines team to obtain input for Discipline designs and to develop a crash free design.
• Prepare design concept for structural framing, grillage and fastening during in-transport and onsite condition and perform structural engineering for in-transportation and installation conditions for the unit
• Prepare procedures for loadout, transportation and installation operations
• Utilises STAAD PRO and SAP2000 software as well as company proprietary Microsoft Excel spreadsheets as required. Conversant with relevant International Codes of Practice as well as engineering and industry standards
• Adheres to and complies with engineering procedures and industrial standards/codes and provides constructive feedback for continuous improvement. Identifies potential applications for new processes and technologies to improve productivity and efficiency
• Ensures effective communication and interface between all disciplines for design and development
• Ensure project meets client requirements, industry standards and relevant Classification Rules and regulations
• Participates in internal audits and investigations as required
• Establishes and maintains effective working relationships internally. Engages with inter-discipline community and promotes networking and knowledge sharing
• Review all detailed drawings ensuring technical correctness, professional presentation and that fabrication and installation requirements are employed.
• Review vendor deliverables, checking for compliances with project specifications and providing comments as necessary.
• Provide technical support to fabrication queries

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil & Structural Engineering or equivalent engineering specialisation from an accredited university
• 5+ years professional engineering in the related field
• STAAD.PRO, SAP2000 familiarity. Knowledge in SACS is an advantage
• Familarity of industry standards, codes and/or Classification Society Rules
• Excellent technical communication (oral and written) skills with proven ability to present technical issues to design teams and project engineering teams
• Self-starter and be able to work with minimal supervision, make sound decisions, take independent action, analyze problems, and provide focused solutions to assigned projects
• Possess strong inter-personal and communication skills and be able to work well with people at all levels

Roles & Responsibilities

Resident Techncal Officer

The candiate should process structural engineering qualification with experience in bored piling, precast works, steel structures, ERSS and associated construction works

• Provide supervision for building and infrastructures works on site in accordance to the project specifications, approved building plan, construction drawings and Building Control Acts and Regulations
• Carry out inspection of works on site and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance to the Qualified Person (QP) instructions and requirements
• Maintain proper documentation of site inspection and site progress records according to ISO Standards
• Check on all drawings and specifications for discrepancies and highlight to Consultants and Project Team for follow up to prevent delay to the project
• Review submission of method statements and ensure compliance to approved drawings and specification and inspect works on site to ensure it is carried out in accordance to approved method statement
• Ensure quality control on site and monitor site safety are enforce during site works
• Attend site meeting when required
• Coordinate with QP and Contractor for all site inspections
• Submit daily site activities and monthly progress report
• Carry out supervision for all structural works such as reinforcements to structural elements, concreting, installation and removal of temporary support

Requirement

• Degree in Civil Engineering, National Construction Certificate of Supervision (NCCS) or relevant Diploma
• Accredited as Resident Technical Officer with IES/ACES
• At least 5 years relevant site experience in residential / improvement works
• Experience in HDB and LTA projects will be an advantage
