• Lead and engage with students in meaningful activities beyond the learning spaces, which extend learning experiences for students (i.e. travel on Interim Semester, sports coaching, field trips, sponsorship of clubs, attend events beyond the school day, community service projects, etc.)

Role-Specific Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic assessment to determine students’ strengths and needs in literacy, numeracy, and/or executive function.
• Write/update students’ Individual Education Support Plan using data to inform SMART goals
• Plan data-informed interventions to support the development of reading, writing, math, and executive function skills.
• Use a variety of progress monitoring strategies to monitor student progress toward their goals
• Collaborate in Professional Learning Communities to review data and share progress monitoring documentation and planning for next steps for a plan of intervention.
• Collaborate with PLC members, students, and parents to write Individual Education Support Plans with SMART goals as well as Individual Accommodation Plans
• Collaborate with subject-area teachers and implement a broad range of strategies to support students in a co-taught, inclusive classroom

Position Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
• Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred
• Teaching license or a degree in education
• A certification in special education preferred
• At least two years full time teaching experience preferred
• Extensive experience working with students with a variety of learning differences
• Experience differentiating instruction and assessment based on student learning needs
• Experience tracking effectiveness of teaching strategies or interventions with the use of progress monitoring documentation
• Experience with tiered supports including but not limited to Response to Intervention (RTI) framework or Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
• Comprehensive knowledge of current best practices in teaching early literacy and numeracy skills
• Demonstrate proficiency in implementing strategies and interventions to support the development of executive function skills.

Working Requirements

• Sponsoring and/or coaching after school arts, activities or sports are part of the responsibility of the professional educator. Therefore, faculty shall be available to direct, coach and/or sponsor an athletic team or other extra curricular activity or arts. Roles and Responsibilities:

Casework & Counselling

• Part of the Intake & Triage Team to conduct intake assessments for new intakesto identify needs, strengths, and risks and make necessary referrals for clients.
• Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to marital and family-related issues.
• Conduct case management for clients and case conferences with stakeholders.

Support Programme & Workshops

• Plan, review and facilitate groupwork intervention for parents and children.
• Facilitate premarital and divorce related programmes and workshops to help equip couples and parents with knowledge that enhance relationships and skills to cope with life transitions.
• Facilitate and supervise visitation access of divorcing/ divorced parents with their children and ensuring that the session carries on smoothly and safely for both the parent and children.

Research & Practice

• Contribute to quality practice and professional matters in agency.
• Engage in research to evaluate activities and identify service gaps.
• Facilitate internal training for team/service point

Networking

• Support networking and advocacy sessions with partners and stakeholders

Requirements:

Job Responsibilities:

Casework and Counselling

• Conduct counselling for individuals, couples and families who are experiencing stress due to family-related issues with moderate complex cases. Includes Online counselling.
• Identify, assessment and manage risks inherent in complex cases by integrating a range of information and screening tools.

Support Programme and Workshops

• Plan, review and facilitate groupwork intervention for parents and children.
• Facilitate premarital and divorce related programmes and workshops to help equip couples and parents with knowledge that enhance relationships and skills to cope with life transitions.

Supervisory and Appraisal

• Provide programme, practice/clinical and administrative supervision to Assistant Senior Counsellor/Social Worker and/or intern using screening tools and organisational practice framework to guide staff in case assessment and case planning.
• Lead and guide Assistant Senior Counsellor/Social worker to case manage and conduct case conference.
• Prepare, review and endorse court reports.
• Assess supervisees' capabilities and identify training needs to enhance supervisees' professional growth.
• Conduct quarterly performance appraisal of the Assistant Senior Counsellors/Social workers

Research and Practice

• Lead in research to build domain-specific knowledge in the local context
• Review research evidence to implement, facilitate and evaluate groupwork and programme
• Review and plan the training road map of practitioners to ensure continuous development of the practitioners
• Lead in implementation of standard of care, organisational health policies, procedures
• Conduct internal training for team / Service Point

Network and Advocacy

• Plan and conduct networking and advocacy sessions with community partners/stakeholders
• Advocate for target families, with the aim for families to have access to equal opportunities through collaborative practice with community partners/stakeholders and funders.

Practice Governance

• Support the Centre Manager in the implementation of practice standards, protocols, processes and policies

Requirements:

• Master Degree in Counselling or Bachelor Degree in Social Work, preferably with a recognised certification in Counselling.
• A Counsellor should have atleast three years of working experience.
• As a Senior Counsellor should have around 8 years of relevant casework / counselling experience in education, counselling, social work, or related work involving family, parents and children, and have experience in conducting training and workshop
• Proven leadership track record in previous experiences
• Accredited member of SASW and/or clinical member of SAC as well as preferably Registered Clinical Supervisor of SAC
