We are looking for a Senior Technician (Lighting) who is able to provide effective and efficient technical support in the mounting of stage productions and other events for the arts center as well as to oversee the work of the other technicians in Technical Production.

You must have well-developed knowledge and skills to one or more specific projects or services relating to audio equipment. You are expected to develop, test and evaluate complex options and issues. Hence, you must be able to plan and can initiate appropriate changes. You also have full accountability of resources and must partake in the training of other staff in your specialised area.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Production and Technical Services/Operations

• Assists supervisors/managers in ensuring that production and technical needs of users are met in their respective areas of expertise.
• To load/bump-in/out, rig and set up/strike relevant equipment for various productions, events and functions.
• Operates the equipment for checks and plotting sessions, rehearsals and performances.
• Ensures that all stage, backstage and production areas as well as equipment are kept neat, tidy and safe and secure.
• Assists in other areas (not just within own specialised area) when needed.

Maintenance of all technical equipment

• Ensures that all equipment at the Esplanade is safely and securely stored and that the tracking of equipment movement is well documented.
• Maintains all technical equipment in good working order.
• Tests and services all equipment on a regular basis, ensuring that they are in good working order at all times.
• Provides first-line repair when necessary.
• Monitors and tracks stock of spares and consumables and requests for re-order when necessary.
• Responsible for regular inventory taking.
• Updates and maintains maintenance logbook/ database

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• Minimum two to three years of experience in the Performing Arts / Live Entertainment industry or similar/ related field or trade.
• ITE/Diploma or equivalent qualifications in a technical field
• Staff Supervisory experience is essential as is the ability to work effectively while unsupervised.
• Fluent in written and spoken English, other languages are considered an advantage.
• Able to take a proactive, methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Relevant training in Technical Theatre Training in Stage Lighting, Electricity and Electronics are an asset.
• Computer literacy
• Training in First Aid and Fire Safety/Fire Fighting is an advantage.
• Willingness to conduct training for other Production Personnel.

5 days work week - Monday to Friday (8.30 am to 5.30pm)

Responsibilities:

• Demonstrate high levels of customer focus and responsiveness through direct interaction with customers and their operational teams.
• Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop staff within a diverse team environment, including creating training plans for operational sustainability.
• Develop and maintain a quality management system to meet customer deliverables and team performance measures according to approved SOPs and organizational safety, quality, and security requirements.
• Lead and participate in initiatives to improve cost, quality, and efficiency.
• Take the lead in performing Flavors & Fragrances Laboratory Operations.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Applied Chemistry, Perfumery and Cosmetic Sciences, or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant working experience, with 1-2 years in a supervisory role in a chemistry laboratory environment preferred.
• Knowledge of “good laboratory practices” and cGMP quality guidelines and regulations.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Mechanical experience with laboratory robots and good computational skills are desirable.

Responsibilities:

• Installs, inspects, maintains, and repairs various types and brand of all types of commercial & residential air conditioners
• Performs regular preventive maintenance and corrective works on air conditioning system
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions
• Carries out repair works such as replacement of air con compressor, fan coil motors etc
• Recommends appropriate repair and improvement works to customers
• Perform servicing of air conditioning at customers’ residential and commercial premises that includes chemical washes, chemical overhauls, general maintenance services
• Ensure all works compliance with appliance standards and Health and Safety Act
• Daily reporting and weekly reporting to direct manager

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience in installation, maintenance (including chemical washing),troubleshooting and repairing of air conditioners
• Must be able to handle physical work due to job nature
• Basic command of English, spoken and written
• Responsible for providing air conditioning (air conditioning system) services, such as inspection,maintenance, installation, air conditioning failure
• Provide monthly maintenance and operation services to customers
• Effective handling of fault / emergency repairs and customer complaints
• Singapore Class 3 driving license
• Minimum 3 years’ experience is required
• 6 days work week (Monday to Saturday 9am to 6pm)
• Company is willing to sponsor Work pass if required
• Preferably with a certification BCA License (Air-Con License) - INSTALLATION OF STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS FOR AIR-CON UNITS or equivalent
• Knowledge in SCDF Safety Requirements for the handling of R32 gas - CoC in Installation &Commissioning Air-conditioning Systems (R32 Split Unit) will be a bonus

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of technicians for maintenance & servicing at premises.
• Manpower planning and daily scheduling.
• Oversee preventive & predictive maintenance on aircon/electrical equipment and plant system.
• Investigate, analyze and determine the root cause for faults & breakdown.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers and fabricators for ad hoc works.

Requirements:

• ITE/Diploma in Airconditioning/ Engineering.
• 5 years of Supervisory in leading a team of technicians
• Possess Class 3 license
• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Computer literacy and able to work during weekend
