Job Description

As a Workshop Engineer, the main role will be conducted within an office-based position at Fugro in Singapore office. He will serve as the primary support contact for the mechanical aspects of all mobile / fixed drilling equipment. He will play a pivotal role in the planning and budgeting for preventive maintenance and upgrades which will include liaising between many internal and external departments. Additionally, he will be responsible for supervising routine mechanical tasks carried out by rig mechanics on the ships.

Day-to-day tasks will include:

• Assist with the preparation and planning for the mechanical equipment inspection and testing that will be carried out throughout the year in the workshop facility.
• Assist the equipment resource manager with the planning and implementation of the upgrades relating to equipment including modification works.
• Participate and execute mobilization activities of mechanical equipment, including development of procedures, task plans, as instructed.
• Plan and arrange contractors for repairs & maintenance and assigned activities on the vessel / workshop and to maintain machines, equipment, and tools, as assigned by equipment resource manager.
• Effectively remotely supervise the rig mechanics onboard vessels ensuring that all repair and maintenance including preventive maintenance for offshore drill rigs and geotechnical equipment on the vessels is carried out timely and effectively.
• Carry out periodical inspections of the geotechnical equipment onboard the ships and in Warehouse to ensure running and safety of the plant.
• Identify in advance need of additional support of contractors for critical Mobilisation / Repair activities concerning mechanical equipment such as Winches, Power packs, etc.
• Ensure maintenance records, certification and spare part information of the geotechnical equipment is filed in the planned maintenance system and available for future referral.
• Develop a comprehensive spares package for the Geotech equipment and effectively stock control it during ongoing operations; equipment to be topped and re-ordered when required.
• Ensure that all work performed complies with the requirements of the Project and is carried out in accordance with the rules and the methods of the Company.

About You
The Workshop Engineer will be a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineer with a detailed operational and maintenance knowledge of static & rotating mechanical (including high pressure hydraulic & Pneumatic) systems. He would have a minimum 8 years of hands-on experience on servicing hydraulic and mechanical equipment used in Marine & Offshore industry, of which minimum 3 years of experience is working on hydraulic equipment used on offshore facilities such as MODU’s, Rigs. The role is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the Offshore Geotechnical drilling and Geophysical mechanical equipment’s maintenance. The role supports operational sites (vessels with hydraulic and mechanical equipment) with advice and direction whilst maximising the availability of plant and equipment through maintenance-based planning and organisation.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage the maintenance and daily operations of the building facilities with the objective of always achieving uninterrupted function
• Ensure contractor service level agreements and key performance indicators are met or exceeded
• Perform routine facilities activities including onsite inspection, fix-it verification, critical systems checks, functional testing, etc. Able to respond and act in response to facilities crisis management activities including power outages, fire alarms, and HVAC outages.
• Analyse data and identify trends with facility issues to determine the root causes and take appropriate action
• Respond to BMS alerts, investigate and feedback on any outstanding issues or events and respond to emergency situations and be on standby duty as required
• Assist in all site construction activities and installations, in coordination with external contractors to ensure system design, installation and testing adhere to operational standards.
• Maintain compliance with Workplace Safety & Health (WHS) standards and electrical and building codes
• Ensure adherence to all standard operating procedures (SOP), method of procedures (MOP), and emergency response procedures (ERP) established for the critical environments, as well as the formal change control process
• Participate in the scheduling, coordination, and completion of all significant planned and emergency maintenance events fo the facility and ensure these activities are executed in a controlled and proven method to ensure the reliability of the critical loads supported by these systems
• Plans, monitors, schedules, and implements measures on the Planned Preventive Maintenance Program for the company buildings and also ensures that the work is done in accordance with schedule and specification
• Provides technical support and take charge on matters concerning the parts replacement and repairs maintenance and service activities of all the mechanical & electrical equipment
• Liaise with contractors and suppliers regarding improvement works and purchasing of equipment and spare parts
• Prepares weekly and monthly building reports
• Planning building maintenance and operational programs for the awarded IFM contracts
• Liaison with all stakeholders, attend to stakeholders’ feedback and ensure a smooth operation of facilities. Ensuring efficiency of all building systems
• Preparation of budget and budget controls
• Ensuring all processes and compliance programs are met
• Familiar in administration and functioning of CMMS/FMS software for monitoring, reporting, data analysis and audit.

Requirements - Facilities Engineer

• Degree in Facilities Management or equivalent qualification or Diploma holder in equivalent qualification with more than 5 years relevant experiences
• Preferably with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Facilities Maintenance, Project Management.
• Able to comprehend, analyse and interpret complex project documents, including AutoCAD, Visio, and PDF documents.
• Technical and functional knowledge of building infrastructure including electrical and mechanical systems, fire detection and protection systems, building management systems, equipment maintenance, and construction of critical facilities environment.
• Possess Project management skills
• Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
• Able to be a good team-player
• Able to work under pressure
