RESPONSIBILITIES

A Senior Occupational Therapist is responsible for providing client care, treatment and client education in collaboration with various healthcare teams. Metta Preschool Punggol (慈光幼儿园) has been serving the community since its official opening on 31 July 2010. Our Centre specializes in early intervention programs for children aged two to six years, diagnosed or suspected with mild to moderate autism spectrum disorders (ASD), global developmental delay, and/or intellectual disabilities. Children attend 3-hour session programs twice a week, guided by a dedicated multi-disciplinary team comprising teachers, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Together, we create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEP) focusing on six key domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication, and social skills.

Metta PreSchool @Punggol (MPSP) has been in operation for over 8 years since its official opening on 31 July 2010. The centre receives cases from SG Enable through referrals from hospitals. Enrolment will take place after the initial screening process is complete. Our centre provides Early Intervention Programme for Infants & Children (EIPIC), aged between 2.5 to 6 years old with special needs, ranging from Autism spectrum Disorder, Global Development Delay to Speech and Language Delay.

The children attend a 3-hour session programme twice a week. The multi-disciplinary team consists of teachers, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists. They come together to discuss and set specific and measurable 1-year goals for the Individualised Education Plan (IEP) of each child. The IEP focuses on 6 domains: fine motor, gross motor, adaptive, cognitive, social communication and social skills.

Supported by the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF), National Council of Social Service (NCSS) and Metta, we provide customised intervention programmes for these children in order to address their developmental lags, promote a satisfactory level of independence and realise their potential. Early diagnoses of their disabilities coupled with appropriate intervention programmes can help them cope with the disabilities, prevent the conditions from deteriorating and maximise their development and capabilities

Requirements

• Proven work experience as a Spa Therapist

• Assess client’s needs and provide professional advice.
• Recommend, educate, and promote suitable treatments and products to clients.
• Actively participate in sales initiatives and meeting sales targets.
• Always ensure the client’s satisfaction and comfort.
• Prepare treatment rooms and maintain cleanliness & neatness of workstations.
• Assist in checking and maintaining inventory and treatment supplies.
• Provide administrative support in terms of customer care, including scheduling appointments, and maintaining accuracy in customers’ treatment logs and customer satisfaction surveys.
• Build rapport and establish good relationships with customers to ensure customer retention.

Requirements

• Possess CIBTAC / CIDESCO / ITEC qualification or other Beauty Certificates
• Minimum 2 years of experience in beauty therapy
• Dedicated and Strong willingness to learn.
• High-level of initiative and motivated to drive sales.
• Exhibits the right values toward customers.
• Able to communicate and listen well.
• Team player with a positive attitude and pleasant disposition
• Bilingualism is a plus.
