The role of Consulting Director in Unit 42 is a senior-level consulting position. The individual will be responsible for the day to day delivery of our threat-led and technology driven cyber security consulting services through leading and directly overseeing a team of Consultants. This person will have experience in developing teams and working with sales and domain leaders.

The Consulting Director will work with a dedicated Regional Business Development Manager (BDM) and Customer Success Manager (CSM) to deliver pitches and prepare proposals to win new business and manage client relationships.

The individual serves as a trusted advisor to clients, is dedicated to delivering technical consulting services to an exceptional standard, thrives in a fast paced team environment, and advocates for innovative approaches to deliver the best outcomes for our cross-sector clients.

Your Role

• You are an Industry-recognized inspiring leader with media and public speaking experience, deeply embedded in information security community

• Oversee the delivery of our proactive and reactive consulting services, ensuring their consistency, quality and highest level of customer service

• Provide hands-on, expert-level cybersecurity assessment and transformation services to clients and deliver findings to CxO and/or Board of Directors.

• Work with the BDM and CSM to perform pipeline generation activities

• Lead scoping and services overview conversations with clients for prospective engagements in area of expertise, presenting with credibility and authority, clearly articulating various approaches and methodologies to audiences ranging from highly technical to executive personnel

• Partner with the Unit 42 executive team and service line leaders to develop and execute strategy for the Unit 42 practice

• Drive innovation in Unit 42’s offerings, by leading and managing the consulting team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new capabilities and services to market that leverage Palo Alto Networks products

• Manage the productivity of a team through attainment of utilisation targets.

• Collaborate with peers and leaders across Unit 42 to drive operational and practice development goals.

• Recruit and onboard world class talent to support our growth goals

• Support the professional growth and development of our consultants through training and technical enablement

• Foster and maintain a culture that attracts and retains smart, kind team members dedicated to executing with excellence

Your Career

Principal Consultant, Threat Intelligence Services is a senior-level consulting position within Unit 42 Proactive Services team. The individual will work alongside the Consulting Director of Threat Intelligence Services JAPAC in providing threat intelligence insights to clients and in support of wider engagements such as incident response, red teaming, table top exercises, and risk assessments, among others. 

The Principal Consultant will be one of the early joiners in the team, and as such should have a hands-on mentality, ability to work on complex engagements independently, and flexibility to be involved in various work streams depending on their skills and business needs. You will be a clear self-starter who understands how to complete high-level tasking and uses your knowledge and skills to meet goals and deadlines. While the individual will liaise with Unit 42’s Threat Intelligence researchers, the majority of their time will be spent in client engagements. 

Your Impact

• Assist Unit 42 Consulting Director of Threat Intelligence Consulting Services in developing and delivering a threat-informed service offering to international clients.

• Act as a subject matter expert on cyber threat intelligence for clients and internal teams. 

• Plan, research, and write analytical reports including client-specific threat assessments and event-based briefings. 

• Deliver threat intelligence maturity assessments and threat intelligence capability building services, including recommendations to improve client’s threat intelligence practices.

• OSINT and deep dark web monitoring for victim-centric intelligence. 

• Interface with the wider Unit 42 Security Consulting and Palo Alto Networks product teams to identify mitigating actions to TTPs exploited by threat actors.

• Amplify Unit 42s’ presence and credibility in the marketplace through thought leadership, including via speaking engagements, and blog articles on threat intelligence topics.

• Strategic Thought Leadership: Engage customer executives with compelling business case presentations and meticulously crafted financial models, underpinning their analytics and AI transformation and business enhancement initiatives.

• Collaboration with Stakeholders: Establish close partnerships with customer Lines of Business (LOBs), sales teams, and other pivotal functions. Prioritize areas requiring analytical and quantification of key value drivers. Elucidate how Cloudera's solutions facilitate the realization of strategic aims and financial targets.

• Value Discovery Workshops: Helm internal and external workshops, harnessing Cloudera’s design thinking methodology, to chart the trajectory from the clients' current business processes to their envisioned future across a plethora of industries.

• Evangelism and Representation: Embody Cloudera's vision at global business summits and executive roundtables, advocating for our solutions and thought leadership.

• Senior Stakeholder Interaction: You will be entrusted with direct access to an array of prominent stakeholders, both within and outside Cloudera. This role mandates close alignment with Cloudera's Senior Leadership and encompasses the responsibility of nurturing C-level executive relationships with our premier clientele.

We’re excited about you if you have:

• 7-10 years of professional experience, ideally in consultative, strategic, and analytical customer-facing roles.

• 5 years of post-MBA professional experience, preferably with a management consulting firm or in a similar role in Business Value Management.

• Comprehensive knowledge in the Software sector and/or an understanding of the Business Impact of Analytics, Big Data, Machine Learning/AI. 

• Strong grasp of how technological solutions, particularly in the realm of analytics and AI, culminate in tangible economic gains for enterprises.

• Strong quantitative and modeling skills with an understanding of financial and accounting concepts including DCF, NPV, IRR, etc.

• Deep understanding of one or more strategic industries: Financial Services, Manufacturing (including Automotive), Consumer Goods and/or Telco (CMT).

You may also have:

• Poised executive presence, adept presentation/facilitation skills, and comfort in collaborating with and presenting to C-suite executives.

• A driven, high-energy, entrepreneurial self-starter comfortable with independently running initiatives within a "high growth/start-up paced" technology company.

• Prior experience in a Sales environment or interactions with Sales teams.

• Must be comfortable with 30 – 40% travel.
