Job Responsibilities

• Responsible for assisting and supporting the Operations department in day-to-day operations & workforce arrangement.
• Support the Operations department in organizing & providing daily transport to the workforce working on site.
• Accountable & responsible for assisting and supporting the Operations department in meeting the sales budget and forecast for the sales unit.
• Perform administrative duties and ensure sales collection for the sales unit assigned such as issuance of the sales invoices and delivery orders.
• Compliance and ensuing Operations department follow the organizational safety practice & procedures.
• Engage and participate in material, parts & components sourcing to support the business unit (Accident repair, Depot repair, etc.).
• Any other ad-hoc duties assigned from time to time.

Requirements

• Required to have at least Class 3 Driving License.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

FINANCIAL RETURNS:

• Achieve budgeted revenues and personal/team sales goals and maximise profitability. Participate in the preparation of the annual departmental operating budget, the hotel sales and marketing plan and business plan, and financial plans.
• Create and implement sales plans that drive measurable incremental occupancy, increase average rates, increase volume, food and beverage and banquet sales.
• Produce/Review monthly reports and sales forecasts to analyse current/potential market and sales trends, coordinate activities to increase revenue and market share and monitor performance to ensure actual sales meet or exceed established revenue plan.
• Curate and develop special events and sales activities to potential clientele.
• Represent hotel in trade shows and major market events locally and nationally to promote new business and increase sales and marketing opportunities for the hotel.

PEOPLE:

• Manage day-to-day sales activities, plan and assign work, and establish performance and development goals for team members. Provide coaching and regular feedback to help manage conflict, improve team member performance, and recognize good performance.
• Educate and train sales team that is responsible for developing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties.
• Work with other department managers to ensure proper staffing levels based on hotel occupancy.
• Recommend or initiate any HR related actions when required.
• Drive a great working environment for teams to thrive connect departments to create sense of one team
• Interact with outside contacts: guests, vendors, and business partners.
• Develop and maintain great working relationships with key partners and outside contacts to increase revenue

GUEST EXPERIENCE:

• Provide guests with information (example: loyalty programmes, area attractions, restaurants, facility information) to elevate guest experience.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and outside contacts in order to produce group and/or convention business, to include room sales and food & beverage sales.
• Schedule conventions and/or business group activities at the hotel and coordinate with other hotel-level departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients.
• Communicate to appropriate departments all pertinent information requirements and special needs for arriving VIP’s, large groups, and other key guests.
• Lead marketing efforts to up sell guests on hotel services, offerings, and amenities.

RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS:

• Identify operational problems that reduce the effectiveness of marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with appropriate department on solutions
• Develop awareness and reputation of the hotel and the brand in the local community
• Connect with key business leaders, officials, and representatives of local community groups within the city to ensure constant high-profile exposure for the hotel
• Effectively communicate and market aspects of the hotel that are sustainable or “green” and use information to gain new business opportunities
• Raise the awareness and reputation of your hotel and the brand locally occasionally acting as hotel representative for media related enquiries
• Identify improvements to marketing activities and overall hotel sales performance and work with other departments
• Perform adhoc duties unexpected moments when we have to pull together to get a task done

ACCOUNTABILITY

This is the top sales and marketing job in a full or limited-service hotel and may include meeting space and or catering facilities. May manage professional level and administrative sales team members.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree / higher education qualification / equivalent in marketing or related field, and two to four years’ experience in a hospitality or hotel sales and marketing setting with direct supervisory experience over a sales team, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Qualities We Value

• Knowledge in Civil or Architecture Engineering or related field
• Specialist Diploma in Construction Productivity (SDCP) certificate required.
• Basic Concept in Construction Productivity Enhancement (BCCPE) certificate required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in the civil construction industries
• Safety related certificate such as supervisor safety, risk management, is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and safety regulations
