About the Role
As the Head of Data Strategy & Management, you will play a critical leadership role in driving the digital and data strategic direction, operational excellence, and innovation initiatives within the Asia Development organization. You will lead a team responsible for overseeing the collection, integration, and analysis of clinical trial data while championing the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and bringing innovation to data management practices. Your efforts will transform business processes and upgrade digital fluency, including AI/ML, across Asia Development to accelerate simultaneous development and disruption.
Key Responsibilities:
The incumbent is accountable for providing strategic vision and leadership for Clinical Data Management, AI/ML, and R&D Tech functions, with responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Develop and execute a roadmap for data management and digital transformation initiatives.
- Ensure efficient and high-quality execution of clinical data management activities.
- Oversee the development and implementation of data management processes, SOPs, and best practices.
- Lead and manage a team of data scientists, technical experts, and digital transformation leads.
- Oversee end-to-end management of clinical trial data.
- Spearhead efforts to identify, evaluate, and implement innovative digital technologies.
- Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of data management and digital transformation activities.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, industry standards, data privacy regulations, and AI governance.
- Drive third-party strategy and oversee relationships with external vendors and CROs.
- Collaborate with biostatisticians to support data analysis and reporting activities.
- Foster a data-driven and digital culture of continuous improvement within the function.
- Stay actively engaged with industry forums, conferences, and working groups related to clinical data management and digital transformation.

To be successful in the role, you need to have expert knowledge of clinical data management practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, and general understanding of digital applications and the role of AI/ML technology in data sciences.
You also need to have:
- Advanced degree in Life Sciences, Statistics, Computer Science, Biostatistics, Data Management, Business or MBA
- Min 15 years of experience in clinical data management or business transformation
- Min 10 years of management experience.
- Experience in clinical development, end-to-end data flow, risk-based quality management, and submission requirements.
- Strong leadership skills and project management experience.
- Strong expertise in clinical data management systems, business & digital transformation, and foundational knowledge in Decentralized Clinical Trials (DCT) approaches.
- In-depth understanding of emerging technologies and trends in clinical data management.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills in English.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking abilities.
- Proven ability to navigate complex projects and priorities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience in vendor management and contract negotiations preferred.
- Experience in multicultural settings preferred.
- Experience in the utilization or exploration of AI/ML for R&D preferred.
- TA experience (oncology, respiratory, vaccine, immunology, infectious disease) preferred.
