Doehle Shipmanagement Pte. Ltd., Singapore is seeking to recruit a Marine Superintendent to oversee the nautical operations of the company’s fleet. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safety, environmental compliance and regulatory adherence across the vessels. With a growing fleet of nearly 20 container vessels, the Marine Superintendent will play a key role in maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards. Your tasks and responsibilities:
• Oversee all nautical operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, cargo worthiness, navigational safety, and adherence to ISM, ISO, and QHSE standards.
• Handle cargo-related matters, including stowage, loading, securing, and stability, ensuring compliance with regulations and operational requirements.
• Monitor and approve nautical-related requisitions, assist in creating annual operating budgets, and track OPEX and budget performance alongside the Technical Superintendent.
• Liaise with classification societies, flag states, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance, handling inspections, surveys, and any deficiencies promptly. Travelling to visit ships is part of your job scope.
• Brief, debrief, and appraise the Master and Chief Officer, identify training needs, and provide guidance on navigational and cargorelated matters.
• Handle insurance claims, conduct damage surveys, ensure timely recovery of receivables, monitor dry-docking specifications, and ensure the functionality of vessel communication systems in coordination with Fleet-IT.
Preferable qualifications and requirements:
• Proven experience as a Master Mariner or Chief Officer on Container and Bulk Carrier vessels, with strong operational and leadership capabilities.
• Familiarity with vetting processes, including Rightship and related maritime compliance requirements.
• Certified as a DPA, CSO, and Internal Auditor for ISM, ISPS, MLC, and other relevant maritime standards.
• Sound knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 standards
• Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking to ensure compliance, safety, and efficiency in maritime operations.
• Fluent in both written and spoken Business English, with excellent interpersonal, communication, and listening skills for effective interaction across departments and vessels.
