GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Internal Auditor for our Group Internal Audit (GIA) team based in Singapore will have primary responsibilities over key Julius Baer locations in the Asia region. The Internal Auditor will be part of a dynamic and highly collaborative team, and will be responsible for leading / conducting independent, objective and risk-based audits in accordance with the annual audit plan.

In planning and executing risk-based audits, the Internal Auditor must comply with local practices (including regulatory expectations), BJB published internal audit manual, as well as with the Standards for Professional Practice of Internal Auditing by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA). Progressively, we also apply Data Analytics to gather audit evidence on a continuous basis. In addition to planned audits, the Internal Auditor may at times be instructed to carry out special assignments or investigations.

In accordance with the Charter of GIA, the Internal Auditor is independent from other operating functions and has no executive role to play. However, the Internal Auditor may provide certain advice if and when asked (e.g., advice management on risks, exposures and infrastructure related matters). Any such advice provided must not compromise the independence (fact and/or appearance) of GIA.

The Internal Auditor is required to assist and support the Asia Head of Internal Audit in the day-to-day activities of GIA.

KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Key Responsibilities

· Plan or support audit engagements, including the identification of risks and defining key audit objectives

· Working collaboratively within the audit team and audit stakeholders to ensure completion of the audit assignment within the budgeted time

· Risk focused, and exercise high level of professional scepticism

· Ensuring that audit documentation complies with auditing standards and internal audit methodology

· Independent assessment of the severity of identified issues and related risks

· Drafting and finalisation of the audit issues, including the in-depth assessment of root cause(s)

Collaboration

· The Internal Auditor shall provide guidance to audit team member(s), and to perform detailed reviews to ensure high quality audit documentation and well-supported audit conclusions (applicable if the Internal Auditor is the appointed Responsible Auditor leading the audit)

· The Internal Auditor is also expected to provide positive developmental feedback to the team member(s) on a timely basis (applicable if the Internal Auditor is the appointed Responsible Auditor leading the audit)

· The Internal Auditor is expected to contribute positively, and proactively escalate any challenges or issues to the Responsible Auditor and Lead Auditor

Requirements

• Minimum 12 years’ experience in progressive accounting experiences with combination of being an accountant, auditor, internal control, and operations management experiences.
• Public accounting experience (Big 4) is required.
• 7+ years of experiences and knowledges of internal control Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) guidelines, compliances, and processes.
• Demonstrate a broad and good knowledge on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), IFRS and local accounting standard (as required).
• Able to dynamically work on managing multiple ends of aspects from accounting, financial, business, and operational to support business growth while able to define and design the key controls in each of the process.
• Ability to translate and bridge the financial and technology concepts to – and to effectively collaborate with – all colleagues and stakeholders who do not necessarily have accounting/finance/technology backgrounds.
• Experience in US listed company and familiar with Asia-based operating company.

The role

We are seeking potential talents to join our Internal Audit Department (IAD) as AVP/VP, IT Audit. This role is responsible for executing Technology reviews under GIC’s IAD. This is part of the IT audit team responsible for Assurance, Advisory and Anticipatory monitoring activities covering all technology domains. This role will also support initiatives to continuously improve on IAD’s methodology and practices.

What will you do as an IT Auditor?

• Plan and execute audits of technology infrastructure, applications and IT processes
• Evaluate system controls supporting applications and business processes as part of integrated audits
• Develop and maintain IT audit programs/tests with innovation and creative thinking leveraging on data science and automation
• Identify deficiencies and provide practical recommendations to remediate and address identified risks
• Obtain buy-in from senior stakeholders for audit issues and recommendations, draft audit findings and reports
• Provide clear and organized documentation of the audit processes and findings
• Identify emerging risks in the environment through continuous monitoring and risk assessment, regular engagements with stakeholders and propose changes to the IT audit work plan and scope where required

• Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with stakeholders. Strengthen the firm’s control environment through advisory and collaboration initiatives
• Support the development of continuous audit initiatives within IAD

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or its equivalent from a reputable education institute, with professional certification in security and controls such as CISA, CISSP, CISM
• Possess at least 10 years of IT audit or IT risk management work experience, preferably with internal audit experience in the Banking and Finance Industry. Those with substantial security experience in cloud, infrastructure (e.g. network/system/database) and cybersecurity will also be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in the use of data analytics and visualization tools
• Experienced in managing and executing fieldwork, issue writing and reporting
• Experienced in reviewing technology domains across infrastructure, applications, cyber security, cloud technology, governance processes and horizontal IT processes
• A good understanding of emerging technology risks and trends. Demonstrate strong ability to pick up knowledge and conduct reviews on new emerging technology domains.
