The successful candidate will primarily support the origination and execution activities across a broad range of structured finance transactions (project finance and asset finance) in the Asia Pacific market. The candidate will work across sector teams within Financing and Advisory, with a focus on asset financing transactions in sustainable transport and solutions as well as export finance. Based in Singapore, the candidate will need to work closely with the Hong Kong, Sydney, Tokyo and Mumbai teams as required, as well as regional teams in South-East Asia. The candidate will also work with other areas of the bank such as client coverage, distribution and loan syndication, sustainable finance, debt capital markets, credit risk management and market risk management.

This is a Trainee position within the Financing and Advisory junior talent pool.

The successful candidate will report to the Singapore-based manager of the junior talent pool and work closely with the junior talent pool staffers on work assignment. As part of the junior talent pool, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate ability to work and develop relationships with a diverse group of stakeholders, including senior front officers, as well as participate in a junior training program and share knowledge within the junior talent pool.

Primary responsibilities include:

Contribute to the identification and origination of potential new business opportunities and assist with the preparation of marketing materials;
Build financial models including scenarios, sensitivity analysis and asset value parameters;
Review of transactional documentation, including deal information memorandum and finance documents;
Provide day to day transaction support in all aspects of the deal process, including the preparation of credit applications, a detailed due diligence and assessment of risks, and assistance with the use of pricing and profitability internal models
Manage other internal processes relating to advisory and financing transactions e.g. updating databases, briefing and meeting notes, completing internal system-based processes, etc.
Complying with all relevant process and internal guidelines in relation to the execution of advisory & financing transactions

Profile required

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND AND CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering or a related discipline.
Prior experience in structured or corporate finance in a financial institution desirable.
Demonstrated ability in project finance modelling preferred. Shortlisted candidates will have to sit for a project finance modelling assessment run by the junior talent pool staffers.

Dry Cargo chartering is a varied and complex market involving more than three billion tonnes of cargo each year. Our experienced team act as a vital link between charterers and shipowners who need to transport the goods required by a growing global population.

Whether you are moving a Handysize cargo of cement across the Atlantic or a 180,000 tonne shipment of iron ore, our brokers work alongside our analysts and Research team to deliver a seamless service. Role Summary

The main purpose of a Shipbroker is to act as a specialist intermediary/negotiator between shipowners and charterers to arrange ocean transport of goods and commodities by sea, the employment of a vessel or to buy/sell ships on behalf of a client. We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented, experienced Shipbroker to join our Dry Cargo team in our Singapore office. We seek exceptional communication skills, a strong work ethic and a high degree of integrity.

What you will be doing

• Instigate, arrange and negotiate deals, including relationship building to develop business
• Daily contact with ship owners and charterers
• Maintain a database of daily market activities and keep track of vessel positions
• Negotiate charters to achieve optimum results for clients
• Provide market insight and trade ideas to clients
• Build strong rapport with existing clients and develop business with new clients
• Maintain databases and prepare market information and reports for clients
• Maintain internal data flow of key market information

What we are looking for

Key Attributes

• At least 4 years’ experience working with a global shipbroking firm
• A degree from a reputable university will be highly regarded
• An in-depth knowledge of the Dry Cargo market and reporting
• Able to build strong working relationships with Dry Cargo clients and develop new business
• Good commercial judgement with excellent negotiation skills
• Driven, self-motivated and client focused
• Strong numeracy and presentation skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Fluency in English is essential
• An outgoing and confident personality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficient in MS office (Excel, PowerPoint and MS Word)

By the end of the program, you will be assessed on your learnings to see if you have what it takes to join our growing team and be a full time Amazonian.

Key job responsibilities
There is never a dull moment as each day presents itself with different challenges. Some of the key exposures are:

• Perform installation and configurations on Data center Servers and Network systems
• Installation, troubleshooting and replacement of internal and external hardware parts of Servers and Network devices
• Perform storage media (HDD, SSD etc.) sanitization and destruction tasks
• Work within a ticket-based environment and work on systematic problem resolution
• Movement of equipment with assisted lifting machinery.
• Maintain high system reliability by prioritizing trouble tickets
• Collaborate with internal teams (DC operations, DC Engineering, Logistics, Security, Projects etc.) sharing ideas and contribute in projects to improve DC work environment and overall efficiencies.
• Participate, lead and deliver small to mid-scale projects including Data Center rollout
