We are looking for a Research Assistant with experience in experimental atomic physics for a project in on quantum interfaces between internal atomic states and photons to prepare entangled atom-photon states. The National University of Singapore (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine is recruiting talented scholars at multiple levels: Post-doctoral Fellows, Senior Research Fellows and Research Scientists to work in the Global Centre of Asian Women’s Health (www.glownus.org) and the NUS Bia-Echo Asia Centre for Reproductive Longevity and Equality (www.acrle.com). Our interdisciplinary program is designed to provide experiences that foster scholars’ professional development by working closely with national and international experts, and equip them with independent research skills in multi-disciplinary areas, such as nutrition, reproductive health, maternal and child health, endocrinology, behaviour intervention, biostatistics and epidemiology.

Successful candidates are expected to 1) conduct original research for publications based on data from several large cohort studies in the United States and in Singapore, such as the U.S. National Institute of Child and Human Development (NICHD) Fetal Growth Studies, Diabetes & Women’s Health Study (www.dwhstudy.org), Growing Up in Singapore Towards healthy Outcomes (GUSTO), and the Singapore Preconception Study of Long-Term Maternal and Child Outcomes (S_PRESTO); 2) present at scientific conferences; 3) contribute to competitive grant applications; and 4) mentor junior researchers within a multi-disciplinary research team. Successful candidates will also have the opportunity to develop their independent research initiatives using the wealth of data from the school and collaborative national and international institutes.

Qualifications

Candidates with a doctoral degree in epidemiology, nutrition, or a closely related field, or those with a medical degree with some experience or advanced graduate training in epidemiology, population health, or biostatistics are invited to apply. We work at the intersection of microbiology and cancer therapeutics and are committed to driving the next frontier in cancer treatment. We are expanding our dynamic team and seeking a bright and enthusiastic scientist to explore the therapeutic potential of anaerobic bacteria in treating solid tumors. In this role, you will perform research to gain a deeper understanding of anaerobic bacterial biology. You will also be engineering anaerobic bacteria strains with improved therapeutic properties and testing them in animal models.

Responsibilities:

• Research & Development: Investigate the use of anaerobic bacteria as a therapeutic agent for solid tumors
• Experimental Design & Execution: Design and perform in vitro and in vivo (mouse) experiments, ensuring rigorous and reproducible results
• Data Analysis: Analyze and interpret experimental data; present findings at internal and external meetings
• Collaboration: Work closely with a broader multi-disciplinary team, including molecular biologists, immunologists, and geneticists

Requirements:

• BSc in microbiology, life sciences, or related fields

• Strong understanding of tumor microenvironments, and the interaction between bacteria and human cells would be an added advantage

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to coordinate research projects under This position is to provide administrative support as a Research Assistant to Prof Zhang Cuilin, Director of the Global Centre for Asian Women’s Health, NUS School of Medicine. The Centre is research-intensive and involves global collaborations to advance women’s health, particularly in administrative support so that projects may run smoothly and meet milestone targets. The Research Assistant will work closely with Prof Zhang and various project stakeholders (e.g., PIs, RAs, clinics) to ensure successful project completion.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The Research Assistant will liaise with relevant stakeholders for participant recruitment and data collection and will be accountable to the Principal Investigator (PI). The Research Assistant will be able to:

1. Support IRB application/administration & maintain Investigator Site File
2. Conduct study recruitment, answer general enquiries on study and checking of study eligibility
3. Conduct informed consent in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Responsible conduct of research (RCR) guidelines and the Human Biomedical Research Act (HBRA)
4. Scheduling of study screening and follow up visits
5. Perform study measurements, data and biological sample collection accordingly to SOPs
6. Maintain regular communication with other team members in different study sites
7. Manage research study databases, including data queries

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Ensure accuracy and completeness of data collection based on medical records and data entry
2. Manage schedules of PIs, RAs, and recruitment subjects, so that projects will run optimally, incident-free, and without significant delays
3. Plan appropriate coordination strategies to manage project requirements
4. Provide effective and timely assistance to Director in managing her calendar and meetings to ensure smooth and organized workflow; Assist with matters related to Director’s participation in conferences/seminars and workshops
5. Assist in travel arrangements, act as claims assistant for travel, transport and hospitality submissions, so that the Director’s travel plans are well organized and hassle-free
6. Able to develop his/her own research interest embedded in the Global Women’s Health Centre and conduct relevant study analysis for manuscripts

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for “The Role of Novel Autoantibodies in Idiopathic Small Fiber Neuropathy” in the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Appointments will be made on a 6 months contract basis.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator to conduct the experiments and analyze and present data.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Assistant will liaise with the relevant personnel in hospital to smooth the process of recruitment and data collection and will be accountable to the Principle Investigator (PI). The RA will be able to:

1. Oversee the general management of the project;
2. Provide administrative and secretarial support to the project, such as organizing regular meetings to maintain regular communication with other members of the research team and collaborate with the study sites;
3. Undertake the day to day running of the project at the study site, e.g. Collaborate with team members at the study sites, recruitment, data collection at hospitals/participants’ homes, coordination of patients’ and participants’ study visits;
4. Conduct literature searches, using SPSS to enter data, and analyse data and maintain trial database, as well as assist in preparing both progress and final reports of the project
5. Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with policies and procedures;
6. Assist with any other duties of a similar nature that are delegated by the PI.
