About the Role:
The role is client facing and requires full time operations at the client site. The client is a multi-national metal manufacturing and trading company with a turnover of US$XX billion. They have offices across the globe and is now stepping into Singapore.
ASPL has been appointed to assist in its Singapore business functions. As a part of team assigned to the client, representing ASPL the role of an Trade Assistant shall be responsible to manage the following activities for the client:
- Handling of commercial and shipping related trade documents, review for errors, follow-up of amendments and arrange timely dispatch to customers and/or their banks.
- Liaise with the banks, suppliers and customers to ensure the trade documents are in order as per agreed terms and conditions.
- Co-ordinate with the internal sales and purchase teams to understand the trade transactions, and payment cycle.
- Updating the transaction records in the system for timely reporting to the management, including keeping track of AP/AR and movement of documents.
- Manage ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the management.

Direct – Assistant Manager (Trade Finance) ; Indirect – Client Manager
Prospects:
It is a highly visible role, working at the client site Trade Assistant shall be dealing with the client’s officers and business team on a regular basis.

Skills and Qualification:
- Degree/Diploma in Accounting and Finance
- 1-3 years of experience in handling trade documents
- Able to work independently and in team environment
- Ability to work on tight reporting deadlines
- SAP knowledge would be an advantage (FICO/SD/MM)
- Proactive, able and willing to learn, demonstrates an acute sense of responsibility and accuracy with work
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office Applications
