Job Purpose
You will be part of the Group Data Management & Governance Office, specifically in the area of Enterprise Data Governance and Data Management.
You will be running programs and initiatives to raise the data literacy and risk awareness across the Group, and enhance the controls and value of our data asset. You will have to design and establish data governance or data management programs and initiatives to steer, drive the organization towards data driven, and enable innovations while preserving the confidentiality of data.
The Job
- Design, develop and maintain data governance artefacts (e.g. framework, policies, standards and guidelines) to ensure relevancy and up-to-date to meet the organization’s strategic objectives and business needs.
- Design and execute communication strategy and initiatives to raise the overall data literacy and data control obligations across the Group to enable intelligent workforce.
- Steer the BU & SU to achieve their goals in a compliance, effective and efficient manner using data and technology.
- Perform process reviews and work with stakeholders to streamline and embed controls onto business processes enabling appropriate usage of data by authorized personnel
- Perform oversight and support country and subsidiaries to ensure alignment of governance practices and standards.
- Strategize to shift mindset and embed data obligations and accountabilities into everyone’s day to day activities, and to develop self-service data culture to improve overall business efficiency.
- Support Data Governance Committee as a member of the secretariat.
- Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks;
- Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company; and
- Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Our Requirements
- Degree from recognized tertiary institution with at least 10 years of working experience with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in data governance, and/or data management (such experience within Insurance or financial Industry advantageous)
- Experience in conducting investigations, or compliance assessments preferred;
- Risk management experience an added advantage;
- Detail oriented and analytical, with good problem solving, project management and organizational skills.
- Good understanding of the principles and key controls of various data management disciplines, e.g. master/reference data management, data quality management.
- Strong change management skills and/or experience in organization transformation programs.
- Good team spirit, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written, oral communication and interview skills.
- Keen interest in business process modelling and re-engineering, preferably with Design Thinking or Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Exposure and understanding on data, architecture diagrams and up-to-date on data and technology landscape (e.g. Hadoop, cloud, data warehouse, AI and ML)
- Maintain awareness of regulatory, data and technology trends and movements across the market and industry.
- High level of integrity, takes accountability of work and good attitude over teamwork; and
- Takes initiative to improve current state of things and adaptable to embrace new changes.
