GENERAL OVERVIEW

SLNG is the incumbent LNG terminal in Singapore. We are committed to meeting and exceeding our energy security mandate for Singapore, and support the development of Singapore as a leading LNG hub. As SLNG expands its operations to encompass the 2nd terminal project, we are seeking a Portfolio Analyst to join our dynamic team. The portfolio management team keeps abreast of LNG industry trends, market movements and emerging technologies to successfully build and maintain forecast models. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Stay abreast of LNG and energy industry trends

• Develop and maintain close relationships with industry players to help stay well-informed on market movements and contracting strategies.
• Conduct comprehensive market analysis to forecast and explain Singapore’s Energy price movements.
• Develop reliable processes for forecasting system demand and supply by incorporating public information and market intelligence.

Lead process improvement and dashboarding initiatives

• Monitor and evaluate regulatory changes in the gas and power markets – including key milestones and targets set by the Authority (e.g. solar, power imports, etc.), and its impact to SLNG.
• Provide constructive feedback on proposed regulatory changes and consultation papers issued by EMC and/or EMA to support growth in the gas and power market.
• Lead discussions with cross-functional as well as cross-organisational teams to identify and unlock synergies and optimisation opportunities for the 2nd terminal project.

GEG Commercial Operations

• Co-ordinating with Operations team on planned generation outages to minimize impact to SLNG’s overall profitability.
• Prepare GEG’s efficiency reports for EMA and self-reports for Market Surveillance and Compliance Panel.

Other Responsibilities

The Department of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS) is seeking candidates to apply for the role of Senior Research Fellow within its Cardiovascular-Metabolic Translational Research Programme.

Purpose of the post

The Senior Research Fellow (SRF) will work closely with the Principal Investigator (Professor Shu Ye) to engage in research into molecular mechanisms of cardiovascular diseases, prepare impactful papers for publication in top-tier scientific journals; and obtain competitive funding for the research programme.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Senior Research Fellow will be able to:

1. conduct research in Cardiovascular-Metabolic Translational Research Programme (CVMD) under the supervision the Principal Investigator Professor Shu Ye to investigate the influences of genetic variants on cardiovascular diseases and the underlying mechanisms, using a variety of molecular biology, cell biology, and histological techniques and animal models;
2. develop and implement research projects, including study design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation;
3. publish research findings in high impact peer-reviewed journals and present at academic conferences and seminars;
4. contribute to the development of grant proposals to secure funding for research projects;
5. assist in the supervision and mentorship of honor and graduate students involved in research activities;
6. contribute to the dissemination of research findings to the broader community through outreach activities, including public lectures or community engagement initiatives;
7. participate in departmental meetings, research seminars, and other academic activities to contribute to the scholarly environment of CVMD.
8. To participate in general laboratory activities related to the research and carry out allocated duties for the laboratory.

Qualifications

The applicant should have:

1. a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in Biomedical Research or a related field from an accredited institution;
2. a strong background and expertise in/or biomedical health-related research, preferably in cardiovascular research;
3. a track record of scholarly productivity, including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals;
4. experience in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies;
