Position Summary
The Senior Merchandising Executive is responsible for leading the merchandising team in the development and execution of merchandising strategies that align with the company’s goals and objectives. The Senior Merchandising Executive will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and supply chain to ensure the seamless delivery of high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning and Execution
· Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies that support the company's business objectives.
· Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive threats.
· Create and manage merchandising calendars to ensure timely product launches and promotions.
Product Development and Assortment Planning
· Lead the product development process in collaboration with vendors, suppliers, and marketing teams.
· Define and oversee the product assortment, ensuring a balanced and compelling mix of products.
· Ensuring alignment with brand standards and customer preferences.
Inventory Management
· Develop and manage inventory strategies to optimize stock levels and minimize excess inventory.
· Collaborate with supply chain and logistics teams to ensure timely and accurate product delivery.
· Monitor inventory performance and make data-driven decisions to improve turnover rates.
Sales and Performance Analysis
· Analyze sales data and key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of merchandising strategies.
· Prepare and present regular performance reports to senior management, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
· Adjust merchandising plans based on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback.
Team Leadership and Development
· Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing merchandising team.
· Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging professional growth and development.
· Set clear goals and performance expectations, providing regular feedback and evaluations.
Collaboration and Communication
• Work closely with marketing, store operations, and other departments to ensure cohesive execution of merchandising plans.
• Communicate merchandising plans and updates to store teams.
· Provide guidance and support to store managers and visual merchandisers
Vendor and Supplier Management
· Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
· Negotiate terms and agreements to ensure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
· Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations for improvements or changes as needed.
Requirements
• Business administration studies or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in merchandising, preferably in a retail environment.
• Proven track record of driving profit margins and curating merchandise assortment.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities
