This position will be responsible for all aspects of Order Management System and its integration. Drive & Manage Projects, New Developments, Change Management, Partner Management, Partner Integration and L-3 Support. Ensure compliance and governance in all aspects of project management.

Main Responsibilities

• Project Management:

1. Own the project implementation with regional and country business owner across client markets in NA & SAPMENA.

• IT Operations:

• To work to meet the legal demands of Trafigura’s business and to provide advice in a clear, succinct and practical manner often under tight time constraints and commercial imperatives.

To report key legal risks and provide timely and proactive updates on ongoing legal matters to (and keep apprised) Management and commercial stakeholders and to develop effective and practical strategies to mitigate the same.

To be the first point of contact in the region for the provision of legal services, including:

• Contentious Advice: Assisting during all stages of disputes from initial advice to managing arbitration, litigation, mediation and enforcement proceedings, primarily with respect to trading and shipping disputes, but also other disputes or investigations as necessary.
• Transactional Advice: Advising on joint venture agreements, share purchase agreements, shareholders’ agreements, structured trade finance-related documentation including prepayments, banking facilities, sale and purchase contracts and other related documentation.
• Regulatory Advice: Relating to applicable regulations in respect of new and existing business across the APAC region, including in relation to sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption and financial regulation including with respect to derivatives and futures trading.

To work as part of the wider Global Legal Team in providing excellent legal service to the business in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.

To procure and manage, where necessary, external legal advice and support.

To work as an effective member of the Global Legal Team and to establish strong working relationships across the business.

Planning, developing and providing training to staff on legal issues and on an ad-hoc basis and as part of established training programs in relation to legal and compliance policies.

Key Requirements:

Education, Experience, Skills:

• Legal professional qualification with at least 10 years post qualification experience.
• Preference for qualification in either the UK, Singapore, Australia or New Zealand with credible private practice experience in such jurisdiction.
• In-house experience in a trading or equivalent commercial environment, with significant international and cross border experience.
• Broad range of legal skills.
• Good IT and organisational skills.
• Excellent command of the English language.
