Our client is seeking a passionate Tax Specialist (Director level) to assist their clients navigate the complex cross-border tax regulations worldwide. With operations in Canada and China, they have now set up a new base in Singapore to further enhance their cross-border tax and financial consulting service.

This person should have excellent knowledge of tax laws and federal regulations, ensuring the accuracy of tax statements, and filing it accurately and efficiently. You must be highly-analytical and communicative, especially on explaining tax-related documents to the management or the clients, as well as analyzing tax computations and managing the companies’ financial transactions, but not limited to:

• Providing expert advice and guidance on tax-related matters, ensuring the clients are compliant with all applicable laws
• Drive & manage all tax queries & audit for the entities in the relevant expects
• Develop tax planning strategies for high net worth individual, entrepreneurs and business owners but not limited to cross-border tax, financial arrangement for example: investment, retirement solutions or business succession planning
• Evaluating clients’ financial and legal circumstances to determine applicable tax obligations and liabilities
• Tax-effiient acquisition structure strategies for clients
• Conducting tax health checks (audit records) to identify potential risks and areas of tax exposure, accounting and financial due diligence
• Staying up-to-date with changes in international cross-border tax laws and regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or the equivalent, Master’s Degree in Law from a reputable university
• CPA qualified min. 15 years experience as a Tax Specialist, experience in tax governance, compliance and consulting (both in-house or consulting firms)
• Good knowledge of cross-border international taxation and financial planning (with particular focus within the Chinese, American and Canadian region)
• High degree of accuracy and attention to details
• Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin – both oral and written. Proven ability to collaborate across various functions and operations
• Proven track record of cross-border (U.S., China, Canada) in successfully managing tax audits, ultimately enabling clients to operate minimal risks at maximum cost efficiency
