The Director, Product Management will be responsible for the technical and commercial development of Visa’s Flexible Credentials approach in AP, working in collaboration with Global Product Management to deliver an integrated, digital payment experience for consumers enabling multiple funding sources, and payment modes including, Debit, Credit, Prepaid, Instalments, Loyalty points and more besides, to be linked together in a single digital-first experience. Reporting to the SD, Modern Credentials in AP, as part of the Consumer Solutions group, the Director will be a key, visible product leader in the region and as such will need to provide thought leadership, subject matter expertise, management of direct and indirect reports as well as rigorous process and budget management experience to the role.

Visa has launched the first generation of Flex Credentials in AP and is committed to proliferating seamless, multi-account, digital access to payments via mobile form factors. Team Summary

In the Asia Pacific region there has seen a surge in the adoption of payments using QR code. This growth is driven by multiple factors such as - the widespread use of smartphones, increasing penetration of internet services and, adoption of QR by the real-time payment networks and fintech. This growth in QR code payments in not isolated in the Asia Pacific region. It is picking pace globally and, the trend is expected to continue in the coming years.

Visa is establishing it’s Centre of Excellence in Singapore which will spearhead Visa’s QR participation in this growing trend. A dedicated team will provide strategic direction, thought leadership, product and execution support, best practices, and oversight for QR based payment for Visa. While Asia Pacific region will be its operating and learning ground, the remit of this Center of Excellence will be global. This team will templatize its learning in the region and help shape market responses globally. The person in this Director - QR Product Management position is one of the team members of this CoE and, will be responsible to managing Visa’s QR product and report to the lead of Center of Excellence based in Singapore.

What does a Director – QR Product Management does at Visa:

In your Product Management role, you will be is responsible for guiding the success of a QR product. This is a techno-commercial role spanning many types of activities, from strategic to tactical. The key expectations for the role are:

• You will be the subject matter expert on QR product. On a proactive basis you will often play the role of training and mentoring staff and, on a reactive basis you would be their go-to person for QR related questions or, problem solving.
• You will also be the advocate for Visa’s QR solutions, conducting sales pitches, workshop and training with varied players in the ecosystem including clients, merchants, regulators, and Visa’s various functional units.
• You will directly collaborate with key clients in the region and participate in their QR deployment journey. To drive adoption of QR code, you will provide them with user experience best practices, identifying right balance between convenience and security, onboarding processing or, help identify how Visa’s solution fit in their existing architecture.
• You will be expected to develop and maintain accurate, high-quality content for Sales pitches, implementation guides for Clients, internal implementation processes and, product marketing material.
• In this role you will closely monitor market trends, identify emerging opportunities, conduct periodic consumer and merchant research to remain current at all times. These activities will guide the QR product development roadmap for which you would be responsible.
• As you work with market team, clients and partners, you will also gather requirements for enhancing Visa’s QR offering. To translate these requirements into new capabilities, you will work with our internal new product development teams.
• Visa has a strong focus on growing value-added services. You will identify and commercialize different value-added services overlaying the QR payment transaction.

What you will need:
We are looking for an individual who brings breadth of experience, a curiosity about payments, is results-driven and client-focused. As a candidate, you should have:

• 12 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree, 8 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters/MBA/JD/MD)
• Previous experience in payment is a mandatory requirement for this role. It would be preferred if the candidate has worked with cross functional team, fintech, big-tech or has lead creation of new payment ecosystem from ground-up.
• Important to the role is a client-oriented mindset when developing solutions while having a strong commercial understanding of a network business and application of leading payment technologies.
• Proven track record for growing new business, exceptional stakeholder skills and a market-focused approach and, challenge and inspire colleagues.
• This individual must be able to independently manage working-level relationships whilst being comfortable to present to executives, both for internal stakeholders and external clients.
• Ability to influence and negotiate to drive results, using analytics to measure performance against key initiatives.
• Prior experience in QR payment, fintech or, product management role would be advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• To work alongside the Head of AST in planning, organising, directing and co-ordinating Advisory business plan objectives, and leading execution of Advisory mandates, across SEA, HK, South Korea, China and the Maldives.
• To support the Head of AST in the origination, execution and overall co-ordination of Strategic Transaction mandates across SEA, HK, South Korea, China and the Maldives.

Advisory

• Execute advisory work relating to a variety of mandates, including hotels, motels, student accommodation, hotel operators, tourism organizations, airlines, cruises, golf courses, and branded residential. The advisory work could include, but is not limited to, feasibility, market or asset reviews, entry or expansion strategy, divestment or reinvestment options, value enhancement assessments, and general industry advisory. This will involve partnering with the CBRE Asset Management, IP, Valuation and Consulting teams on certain mandates, and potentially external third-party experts.
• Develop and own rigorous advisory report templates, financial models and data analysis methods which demonstrate a strong level of understanding of the core criteria necessary in to evaluate the subject matter, and a high degree of comfort with data gaps and ambiguities.
• Develop and implement marketing strategies to source new clients and mandates and maintain/strengthen relationships with a wide network of key industry stakeholders, utilizing activities such as cold calling, mail-outs, attending networking functions, and proactively seeking to increase personal knowledge of the market (focus on trends / opportunities).

Strategic Transactions

• Support the Head of AST in building out and growing a Strategic Transaction service line. This could include hotel portfolio sales, brand company buy and sell side mandates, merger and acquisition mandates, brand partnership advisory, capital raising mandates, and other hotels and hospitality transactions that require or leverage the team’s industry and capital markets knowledge, experience and networks.
• Origination and execution of Strategic Transaction mandates will require you to leverage your industry, technical and other relevant knowledge and skills to undertake financial and business analyses, package up and articulate ideas, rationales, conclusions and recommendations in the form of Powerpoint presentations, memos, emails, in-person discussions, etc.
• As required support the broader CBRE capital markets teams on hotel transactions as required, under the guidance of the Head of AST.

Branded Residential

• Support the Head of AST in building out and growing a Branded Residential Advisory service line.

Asset Management

• Support the Head of Asset Management, Asia on selected Asset Management assignments, which could include managing certain hotel mandates, as guided by the Head of AST.

Personal Requirements

• Commitment to playing an active role in setting up and growing a new business line within CBRE – understanding the vision laid out by Senior Managing Director, Hotels and Hospitality, Head of AST, and other relevant senior team members, supporting the execution of strategies laid out, contributing new ideas, challenging assumptions and engaging in constructive discussions around how to grow the business
• To manage, develop and mentor junior team members to build a successful and influential hotel team; and actively coach and advise the wider team as this is integral in the achievement of the AST objectives;
• Develop and maintain close relationships with internal and external key clients and a network of other hotel and hospitality practitioners;
• Actively contribute to team meetings demonstrating a willingness to share ideas.
• Participate in Industry specific professional association activities;
• Be recognised as a specialist in the delivery of advisory services to clients;
• Always act legally and within the parameters of accepted business practice. Undertake no course of action that may result in legal action against CBRE or otherwise bring the company into disrepute;

Experience:

• Minimum 10 year’s experience in Hotel Advisory Services with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor staff.
