• The Sustainability Leader will report to the CEO of the HY.
• This role will be responsible for leading the sustainability function.
• You will be required to start and grow the business unit with direction from the CEO.
• You will be acting as the key person to analyse and recommend areas of improvement on sustainability matters - not limited to renewable energy use, pollution reduction, recycling to general education from internal/external perspectives.
• At the same time, you will also need to think from a practical and commercial way to ensure cost effectiveness, ROI, feasibility etc are taken into consideration while KPIs are set in place in an achievable manner. Last but not least, you and your team will work together to ensure a proper ESG reporting mechanism is in place.

• As an integral part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will inspire, analyse, report, model and document sustainability projects and liaise with clients with the aim of expanding the sustainability project portfolio.
• You will ideally have experience in a similar role working in sustainability consulting in the built environment and be looking to take the next step in your career and increase your client exposure, job management and leadership qualities.
• Leading the research and analysis of key environmental, social and governance (ESG) topics and work closely as the Head of Sustainability to develop the sustainability strategies for the organisation.
• Collaborating closely with other squad leads in the organisation to develop and implement sustainability initiatives.
• Provide expertise on key sustainability-related issues, assisting in assessment on sustainability risks in the design and operations of the organisation, taking into consideration best practices and standards from the industry globally.
• Keeping abreast of sustainability trends, regulations, reporting standards and technology and disseminate this knowledge throughout the organisation.
• Building awareness and understanding of sustainability issues to all stakeholders through effective communication.
• Evaluate the technical robustness and financial viability of sustainability innovations.
• Oversee the implementation of innovative pilot projects and work closely with all stakeholders (internal and external) to plan, execute, monitor and assess the outcomes of each project.
• Other duties as directed to elevate HY's global sustainability leadership position and reputation.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Architectural or Engineering related fields.
• 10+ years in sustainability consulting, in the built environment sector
• Have a keen interest and enthusiasm for sustainability in buildings and infrastructure.
• Be a versatile, quick thinker and show willingness and ability to pick up new concepts quickly.
• Agile and collaborative, leveraging expertise from others when needed.
• Strategic mindset and strong problem-solving skills with a structured approach
• Can-do attitude with an iterative mindset and comfort with experimentation
• Enjoy a client-facing role with proven track record in managing projects and clients.
• Well-versed and understand the technicality of building physics analysis to drive discussion and propose solutions to Clients
• Client liaison and relationship management throughout various stages of a project
• Relevant industry accreditations in Green Mark AP, LEED AP and preferably WELL AP with project experience will be looked upon favourably.
• Excellent written, listening, and Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Report writing skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with a wide range of stakeholders with varied professional backgrounds and across departments and different regions globally.
• An ability to and build long-lasting and meaningful relationships with diverse stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, including outstanding attention to detail, adaptability to rapidly changing priorities, and effective ability to prioritise multiple complex tasks and manage multiple deadlines, and deliver high quality work.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with demonstrated flexibility in approach and proactive can-do attitude.
• Experience with preparing strategy, implementation and certification of best practice certification schemes, including LEED, WELL, Green Mark, EDGE and other similar ratings
• Developed knowledge of engineering and architectural principles to analyse and interpret documentation and drawings.
• Possess a body of knowledge that allows you to evaluate sustainability attributes and opportunities within designs, and where improvements are required (mechanical, façade, spatial etc).
• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently, effectively resourcing to meet client deadlines The successful candidate is an experienced practitioner in sustainability field in a corporate environment with proven track record.
• Demonstrated strong analytical skills, and be able to effectively draw insights from research and data to support inform ESG solutions for clients
